Has anyone tried fermented cab bage ie sauerkraut , heard its a natural probiotic

You can make it yourself to try. Just shredded cabbage and salt in a jar. Check online for details. It is said to be very beneficial to good gut bacteria. Watch out for shop bought, as it's probably sterilised and therfore not the same. A good health food shop will sometimes stock it. If not cabbage, check out other fermented foods which will have same beneficial qualities.

It's fermented and so is a natural probiotic. Because people's gut flora is individual to them depending on what we eat, the antibiotics we have taken and lots of other factors, one probiotic food/supplement does not work the same for all. That's why some people swear by a particular product and for others it doesn't work. In theory it is a healthy food (if you can stomach it!)

I love sauerkraut, seem to be more tolerant to it than wheat bran, but everyone is different. It's just a case of trial and error to find what works best for you. IBS has so many causes and there isn't any miracle cure, sadly.
