Hi! I understand how you feel. I do not work now (because of my ibs) but I am nearly 56 so people seem to think its my choice and I am lucky not to have to financially. I would love to work but I don't know how I could be reliable anymore with my ibs. I do voluntary work a couple of times a week but only for a short stint each time. I don't know if you could have a proper talk with your employer and try and make them understand what its really like trying to cope with this condition or maybe you've already done that. I'm sure it would be very different if he/she had it themselves! Sorry can't be of more help.

This stress probably contributes to your IBS flares. I know for sure it does mine. Hang in there.

I can totally associate with your concerns. I felt I had to leave my last job, dealing with the public/as sales clerk because of unexpected flareups from IBS. My employer was very kind enough to lay me off so I could collect e.i. But here I am now three years later, broke, no savings or retirement funds and 67. P.S also divorced. Stress is my biggest cause of my flare ups.
