This is the bowel in spasm and as I explain it is like having contractions when having a baby. Some can tolerate more pain than others. Might be caused by many things need to look for signs

Exactly what I experience Gemini171!!! Mine starts in the evening and by the time I go to bed I could scream. Mind you since I started taking Silica Gel I have been having some better days and nights. I seem to get 2 or 3 good days and nights in a week and it is helping me to pinpoint what upsets me. I will carry on taking it as 2 good night's and days are better than 7 bad ones.

Hi

I think this is Silicol Gel. You can buy it in a Holland & Barrett but can be cheaper online. It us very soothing on the gut but can be a little constipating. You should be able to find several posts on this site about the effectiveness of this product. The silicol gel website is also very informative.

It is Silica Gel I take, I would imagine very similar to Silicon Gel though. I buy it from Recital Limited and it costs nearly £20 for 1500 mls and you take 20 mls a day. I take my fybre gel each night and if I feel at anytime my bowels are not emptying completely I take a couple of Senacot. As I said before to have maybe 10 good night out of 14 is better than 14 bad nights. But again it may not be the answer for everyone. In fact I have had a not so good today, have been abbreviated and very windy!!! Out with friends last night, glass of wine, chicken Korma, naan bread with no reaction at all last night. Wouldn't' it be great if we knew the answer to this 'bloody' IBS.
