Hi I'm just started going dairy free, what can I use instead of creme fraiche ? Thanks
I haven't found anything to equate to creme fraiche - I just don't use it or make any receipes with it in anymore
Alpro do make a longlife single cream equivalent though
Thanks for that I will look out for the single cream.
There is usually a decent dairy free or alpro section in the supermarket
Thanks for the info , I've been having soya milk is that not good
kerrym212 - The problem with having to have a dairy free diet is finding tastes that suit individuals - for instance would almond milk taste nice in coffee.
Can you refer to any medical reasons why soya is not good for people.
I use oat milk as cream which I find quite acceptable and also use oat milk. I too only drink fruit/ginger/peppermint teas as caffeine tends to trigger my IBS. It takes a while to get used to gluten free and lactose free fodd but it has certainly been worth it for me. Soya made me very bloated so avoid it.
Thanks for that I will try oat milk, have nt had diarrhoea for a week now so hope dairy free is working for me.
Hope that this continues for you. As a spread substitute I use Pure Sunflower spread (recommended by a friend who has a severe heart problem this was his dietitian's spread substitute for him) but Vitalite is also dairy free.
I will have to try that thanks .
