Hi Swimsound,

Are you worried because of potential side effects? Not everyone gets side effects so if you are fit and healthy in general, you might not notice too much change. I just started treatment myself a few days ago. I was apprehensive about side effects too, but so far haven't noticed anything except the orange wee. Fingers crossed it stays this way.

Unless you feel seriously unwell due to side effects, which probably will not happen, I don't see why you can't keep swimming or doing yoga.

I should add that if it's latent TB, it means that you are not infectious so you don't need to avoid social contact at all. My doctor advised that there is no need to disclose my latent TB to others, because it's not infectious and because others might have misconception of it.

All the best!

Hi

I am an healthcare worker also. I moved trust and at my occupational health check , they did the eves test as my scar from TB jab was faint.I went for tests and told I had latent TB and there was a nodule on my left lung. I was told there was no need to have treatment. 3 years later I went into hospital with a kidney stone, doctor CT scanned my lungs also. It showed my left Lung had collapsed. I’m none no wiser if I needed treatment. I hope everything goes well for you

Looks like you’re already well into treatment and I hope it’s going well for you! I start on Friday so, fingers crossed, I’ll do okay. FYI I’m pretty certain that I was exposed when I was working (psychiatric social worker) at a large psychiatric hospital between 2015 and 2021 so in somewhat the same situation as you. Feel free to reach out if you need any additional support!

i’m assuming you’re probably wrapping up your treatment? I’m wondering if you had anything like reflux or any bit of anxiety here and there while you were under treatment? My reflux is pretty bad at night and it feels like there’s something in my throat or someone has their hands on my throat. It’s not as bad during the day because it’s daytime, and of course at night everything is worse, right ha!
