Just wanted to share thay I ended my treatment today having completed 8 months 20 days of medication. I was supposed to complete 9 months of treatment but my liver enzymes went over the top and doctor decided to finish the treatment.
All in all I can say that the journey is tough but eventually you get there. Keep your diet healthy, drink loats of water and eat medicine on time and dont skip meds.
I have some side effects still lingering such as acid reflux and phlegm due to bronchiactasis but its improving. I wish you all luck and happyness as you all complete the treatment.

Hi dino that’s great news glad to hear that your treatment has ended. It must be a relief to get through to the other side. Keep us posted on how you are getting on. Can I ask did your chest X-ray fully clear up at the end of treatment? When did the X-ray start to look better presuming you have been having few X-rays done whilst under treatment? Also when did your cough start to get better I am still coughing dry but sometimes with phlegm in the mornings. Take care and keep in touch
Actually my cough totally stopped after 1-2 months of medication. Although the damage was still there. My doctors used to tell me about which area of the lungs are clean and which are still damaged. The last two xrays came out clean except for a little permanent scarring. Evidently, the permanent scars don't do away.
Xrays started to look better after 2nd month I would say. My doctor told me i didn't have 'too much' tb but it was definitely spreading and was concentrated towards upper lungs. But yeah after 2nd month of completing meds, my xrays improved a lot.
One peculiar thing is that I still get phlegm but no cough at the end of treatment. I experienced heart burn and my liver enzymes shot up to 140 ( normal is 30) which made things a little worse. Now whenever I eat something, especially in the morning, I get phlegm which is continuously produced for like 20-40 minutes and then its good. But no cough due to that. Anyways our body goes through many changes.. the xrays are clean and the doctor said current phlegm is mostly due to acid reflux or bronchiactesis so yeah. You still recover from things afterwards.
I had my 6 month c ray last summer. Stay healthy. I felt pretty much back to normal 3 months after finishing treatment. I get some fatigue and discomfort from scarring but I feel like me and feel normal!
