Blood Blisters

I’m on my 13th week of the Isoniazid and Rifapentine meds. A few hours after my last dose I started getting blood blisters all over my body. I woke this morning and have about 11-15 of them on my tongue and lips. There are about 30+ covering my body. They are so painful. Has anyone else had this happen? I have had the worst side effects with these medicines, but this really just is too much.

Hi TBinTexas,

I'm sorry to hear of the difficult time you are having with your medication. Unfortunately, this is not unusual.

Skin rashes are particularly common, so your blood blisters may relate to this. It is always worth discussing with your doctor or a pharmacist though, at the very least they may be able to prescribe something that will help.

There's more information about drug side effects here: thetruthabouttb.org/wp-cont...

Please note, we are a UK based organisation so we do not necessarily use the same names for our medications.

Best wishes,

Helen
