Do you have any problems with asthma or other lung issues? Is it a tightness in your chest? Just trying to get an idea of what might be going on

No there is no tightness in my chest and I don't have asthma or lung issues.

Could be from anxiety or a panic attack. I saw on your other post you were purging. When I was bulimic it would really mess with my electrolytes which can cause dizziness, heart palpitations, breathing difficulties, and so much more. Have you talked to your doctor? I would definitely get it checked!!

It could well be a reflection of your state of stress and/or anxiety. How are you feeling emotionally at the moment?

I think whatever the cause, it would be wise to go and see your GP. If it is a physical cause then there will be treatment or if it is a mental issue then a referral to a counsellor would help you.

Hi Kiran,

I share this problem with you and find that it comes when I feel stressed or nervous about something happening in my life. I think the other responses are right to refer you to a GP to talk about whether it is a physical illness or if it can be helped with psychological support through counselling. It might help you to learn breathing techniques and exercises that can help to regulate your breathing patterns when you get this tense feeling. Sometimes even just sitting quietly and counting to ten whilst breathing in and out can calm down this breathless feeling. I hope you find a way to relax and let us know how you get on but definitely let your doctor know, don't suffer alone! Kind regards.

Hi, I have been exercising more and try to breath slowly. I have also tried to call myself down.

Sometimes I found that I was just really tired, that’s why I struggled to take a deep breath.
