Zytiga

Some of you may remember as Medicare Open Enrollment started I posted about discovering that Cigna HealthSpring is a Plan D PDP carrier who the website said made a deal with 2 pharmacies that indicated they would deliver generic Zytiga for $285 retail price.

Anybody here successfully cut their adjuvant prednisone dose while taking Zytiga (without major side effects)? 🙏

My question is: Should I change to Zytiga NOW or just stick with the Cassodex??? My concern is so far the Cassodex & Lupron are doing the job - SO WHAT IS THE REASON FOR CHANGING TO ZYTIGA??

Currently I am on Lupron + Avodart + Zytiga + Prednisone + Metformin, Anyone here on this forum familiar with Lamotrigine? It's usually used for seizures. I have been tested for Alzheimer's and I Don't have that disease. middlejoe

He is currently on Zytiga and prednisone and for a 76 year old man the fatigue and loss of sleep are the major side effects he finds bothersome, along with hot flushes. He is the kind who has avoided taking medicines his entire life, until now.

To start with, we agreed to add Zytiga if PSA approached 2.0 They added Zytiga + dexamethasone in December of 2017, when PSA reached 1.8. PSA immediately went back to undetectable, where it remains today.

We continued to get Lupron injections and measured his PSA which is slowly rising three months of discontinuing zytiga so then urologist recommended we see a oncologist oncologist put my dad back on Zytiga and after a month of being on it his PSA has doubled is this normal anyone else have the same

Radiation and Zytiga to start soon. So far, sexual impacts have been minimal.

We are wondering why he is told he should do both Lupron and Zytiga, as opposed to just Zytiga? From what we understand Zytiga does comprehensive job of stopping androgen production, so Lupron sounds redundant to us. Thoughts always appreciated from the malecare brainiacs (many here, IMO).

I have read about taking Zytiga with food which he is not doing! Do we have anything to lose by trying? Thoughts welcome Islandgirl51

On lupron and zytiga, after 19 months PSA went from 1230 to 0.08, Alkaline phosphatase went from 782 to 109 but then ALP increased to 169. My question is can that ALP increase be attributed to bone healing or only to cancer activity?

Treated with Lupron, Zytiga (with prednisone) since then, and PSA numbers have been declining from 7.57 in 11/18 to current at 0.4. I have asked my MO about testing my testosterone but he says not necessary as my numbers look good.

My dad is diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic 4+4= 8 Gleason score metastatic with mets over pelvic bone and spine so we started hormone therapy + abiraterone + 5 mg Prednisone two and half years back his psa was 13 when he was diagnosed after starting therapy it was nadir 0.010 now it started rising

+ Zytiga & pred, switched from pred to dexamethasone, then stopped Lynparza so he could start Xofigo while staying on Zytiga + Dexamethasone. My husband is on a the list at Cornell for the AC 225 treatment. He wanted to wait until they could figure out a way to protect the salivary glands.

Have had ADT, Taxotere, Zytiga, Apalutamide, Cabazitaxel, & carboplatin Combo. My PSA got down to 3.9 and stayed there for one month and had been climbing for over a year. Looks like it is leveling off at 250 ish.

I am currently on Lupron, Zytiga, and Xgeva. Each of my subsequent NaF PET scans since 9/17 (chosen because of increased affinity of NaF to lytic lesions) have shown "interval stable" results. Good news as long as it lasts!

I got on Eligard and Zytiga+pred. right away and currently I am undergoing radiation to prostate (AND the 3 pelvic bone metastases - I challenged them to do so and they agreed due to my young age).. Anyways... PSA has dropped steadily since: 90->33->3.0->2.1 (start day radiation March 4th).

Been on zytiga 13 months. When do you know you’ve had your run with zytiga? Lowest PSA 3.87 past August . Diagnosed aug 2017 . Metastasized in bones but not in any organs. Why stay on ADT if cancer is working around the hormones? Discouraged .

I figure I will run out of my lucky remission with Zytiga and move on to the other fun rides. Who has had experience with Docetaxel? Who has has experience with Radium 233? I only have one oncologist, whom I like, and these are the two things he has mentioned. What are they like?
