I lived in a townhouse once, many, many years ago. One bathroom. Piece of plywood to keep the kiddos from bouncing down the steps. If I had to walk up and down stairs all day to grab a beer, I would look like Charles Atlas. And probably talk like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
It is not necessary to walk if you have difficulty doing walking. Dont laugh..OK..I am suggesting something which can work for anyone....Lie down in bed and raise your hands in air and move them in circular manner many times....do the same with your legs...Afterthat while still lying in bed..stretch your shoulders and back gently and do it repeately. This way your joints will remain safe.
Belive it I do these "bed -excercises" when I wake up in the morning .
I do get a lot of upper body exercise. Pushing myself up off a couch or chair to go whizz every 15 or 20 minutes ... grabbing the furniture and stuff when I walk , easing myself back down etc. Yayahahahaya lifting those beverages. I probably walk half a mile combined in the house every day.... in short trips.
Adt has turned my hip and leg muscles into near lead ... stiff as a board and weak ... I get winded / exhausted very easily ... after I turn red and huff and puff a bit .... I gather myself and I’m good. I’m at Kaiser frequently every month. I get let off at the entrance and make it all the way to the clinics and back, unassisted. Sometimes the volunteers want to push me up there but I insist on doing it myself.
I don’t get to enjoy the great exercise you have fun with ... but I do get a little daily too. Got to be real careful with spine , thorax and vertebrae stress .... got an ugly assortment of met damage on those.
Thats great. Just keep waving goodbye to cancer cells. Each time you move hands to wave goodbye...you are killing a bunch of cancer cells as they do not like motion..they get giddy and pop up. Let keep moving..bro.
Sorry to hear that. My husband is the same way, I feel so bad for him but he keeps pushing himself everyday. I pray for all of you guys with this monster inside you! Keeping pushing yourself everyday and I will be praying everyday!
Thank you for your kind thoughts Mamabakes I appreciate it very much. My monster is pretty much asleep now, the sleeping pill adt is the debilitating factor. Yayahahahaya what’s that old joke , “ if the disease doesn’t get you, the cure will ! “ . Never a more true thing than with guys like us. Still I’m I'm nearly a year past the expiration date on my carton and frankly glad to be here . I suspect your husband feels the same way. Yes it screws up a lot of things in life but there is a whopping lot more for us guys ... the main one being a loving wife like yourself that has got our backs and makes our lives ever so much a better place.
Best wishes to you and your hubby in this new year Momabakes , I hope you can find lots of the world of good things that remains.
Way to keep on fighting Randy! I've only walked 1.1 miles so far this year, too tired and sore from shoveling "wintry mix" off my driveway, which is a euphemism for "heavy and wet enough to choke a snow thrower".
That is funny. I occasionally take granddaughter to THE MALL. She will look behind her sometimes to see how far behind I am. Can't lose me. I'm the one who is going to buy the jeans with thirteen holes in them, that looks like a rag, and I'm sure you can't wear it to school. Oh, by the way MALL prices are astounding. And good lord, never go to the shoe store.
I’m all over that too!!! We take the 2 G-daughters shopping to pick out their own xmas gifts / cloths and shoes!!! Oh.......... My........... God painful!
They’re lucky I love them sooooo much!!!! Haven’t figured out how the wife ends up with stuff in those bags too!!!
Happy New Year, Dockam! I was diagnosed on New Year’s eve exactly three years ago. So, I’m exactly 2 years behind you. May we both keep it that way for years to come! 🎉🙏🏻🥳
