Medication for COPD
Personally when my breathing becomes troublesome
ventolin
gives me no relief. I had asthma all through my childhood and it left me in my teenage years. At that time I was prescribed an lnhaler called Alupent which give me immediate relief.

Advice please - after attack/steroids - what next?
Ventolin
doesn't seem to be helping (I'm using a spacer), but it isn't evolving to an attack, just constant mid-level difficulty to breathe. The asthma nurse at my surgery literally retired at Christmas, and hasn't been replaced yet.

Cold virus and amber peak flow: should I call nurse?
About 5 weeks ago, I took a course of prednisone for increasing symptoms and four days/3 doses into the course went to out of hours but by the time my appointment rolled around I was fine (albeit having maxed out of
ventolin
dose) and the doctor suggested I should distract myself instead of taking

Fostair versus Seretide?
I know, from research that it is a more flexible system and can be used as both preventer and releiver but the thought of not using
ventolin
scares me rigid! My peak flow has fallen since Wednesday when I started to use it and my chest is sore and I am coughing even more.

Hello, newbie here
Had inhaler changed from Symbicort to Fostair, which is easier to use, but still using
Ventolin
multiple times per day. Dreading going back to work tomorrow as not easy to whip my inhaler & spacer out to use. Sorry for the long post, but thanks for reading. Wishing everyone a healthier 2018.

Help - post attack
I struggled to even take my
ventolin
at first due to the panic I was in. I ran my wrists under cold water and opened a window to cool down.

Asthma but negative tests...
I went to the doctor and he diagnosed with asthma (no test was performed) and prescribed me blue inhalers (
ventolin
). Since then ( I am 20 now), I had occasional wheezing during the winter when I got sick, but I rarely had to use my pump.

I'm new, having flare up, any ideas?
I went back to my GP as my
Ventolin
wasn’t giving me the relief it usually does and he thought I may have had some type of infection so was on antibiotics (Clarithromycin) for 5 days.

I'm new and awaiting GP diagnosis
In the meantime I have a
ventolin
inhaler. I am a smoker of 40 yrs but stopped instantly 4 weeks ago (I couldn't physically inhale cigarette smoke - not even e-cig vapor) so I cold turkeyed.

I'm looking for preventative advice to minimise asthma related problems and infections.... can you help?
Just for info my current regular medication is 400mg Symbicort (2 × 2 puffs a day) and
Ventolin
(2 x 2 puffs daily) and more when required), and have rescue steroids (which I am on at the moment).

Hopeful new born for me
from this forum, and as my first post said, I am a Beijinger, male, 36 years old, and started to have tight chest and short of breath since 2010, and I have been treated as asthma because the provocation test(hope I am spelling right) is positive, and the FEV1/FVC is 65% with no reversible with

What to do after an attack
I took 9 puffs from the
ventolin
and it calmed after a few hours , though I’m still feeling tight chested and out of breath like breathing through a straw.

May not be asthmatic but need advice!
So was started on
Ventolin
and got a chest x-ray which was clear. Cough didn't really abate so was stepped up over next few months to reach Symbicort. Within 3 weeks of starting on this noticed huge improvement in my fitness, no longer got short of breath when running or at swim training, etc.

2 Year Old HELP!!
In June/July time last year she was given a brown (clenil 50) and blue (
ventolin
) inhaler. Initially this was great we had maybe 6 weeks of her sleeping soundly. Mid-August the coughing returned and it hasn't stopped.
