NEW MEMBER. ASTHMA AND A LOT OF DOUBTS
But from 2011, I never had a bad crisis (to be hospitalized or be unable to breath, or a red line peak flow), and I reduced the use of my
ventolin
, mostly the first years of treatment.

10mg prednisone on a daily basis
( In addition to this I take
ventolin
4 puffs 3 times a day plus 2 daily puffs of 250g of flixotide). Since returning home, I visited my doctor and asked to be put on 10mg a day of prednisone - he agreed to a trial for a fortnight.

Post attack advice please
Also, my chest went a bit hard work breathing yesterday afternoon so took my
ventolin
which eased it after 4 puffs. Again, is this normal? My chest is sore, I guess from the effort and inflammation? Is this normal?

Salbutamol inhalers and repeat prescriptions?
I've been informed, without consultation or discussion, that I can no longer ask for a
Ventolin
inhaler on monthly repeat prescription. I was told by the nurse that they have no say over this decision and it's countrywide and came down from on high through the NHS.

How fast can an attack come and go?
I take Seretide 500 and
Ventolin
accuhalers. Manifestations of my asthma so far have been very textbook: coughing, tightness, shortness of breath, and whistly wheezing. A couple of days ago I was spraying bug-spray, something I’ve done thousands of times before.

General Anaesthetic makes asthma symptoms worse?
However, since having the anaesthesia the cough and a tiny wheeze have returned - not nearly as bad, but they are there, meaning I have had to use the Fostair as a reliever as well as preventer for the first time (
Ventolin
doesn't work for me at all - makes no difference).

Preventer still not working after a month
I still have to use
ventolin
several times a day and my nebs three times a day. I use seretide with a spacer and I take 2 puffs in the morning and two others at night. So, could it mean that this drug has no effect on me and I should try another ?

Fostair 200/6
We’ve been through the ‘let’s try this’ scenario that has included prednisone,
Ventolin
and Qvar.

Can too much ventolin make asthma symptoms worse ?
Also, I take up to 20 puffs of
ventolin
everyday and 3 nebs of bricanyl/atrovent and despite all this medication I rarely feel better. Most of the time it doesn't work or it only works for 2 hours and then the tight chest comes back. Does it often happen that the nebs and
ventolin
don't work ?

How to convince doctor that TSH is not the most important lab result?
She renewed my
Ventolin
inhaler prescription. I decided to wait until all these drugs cleared my system before retesting, because being ill can affect thyroid lab results, as can some medications.

Asthma and Enstilar Aerosol for Psoriasis! :(
A few doses of
Ventolin
and a quick application on the other leg, and I closed the door to this room and went to bed. Even getting upstairs was hard work. 15 minutes propped up in bed, and I dozed off. I'll wear a painters mask next time I use it ...best advice the pharmacist could offer!
