Hi everyone. Just wondering whether anyone here had noticed an increase in asthma symptoms one or two days AFTER having a general anaesthetic?
I have been using Fostair 200 and it's been really good - apart from a few side effects like racing heart, red face etc. which have pretty much gone now. It got rid of my cough/wheeze almost completely.
However, since having the anaesthesia the cough and a tiny wheeze have returned - not nearly as bad, but they are there, meaning I have had to use the Fostair as a reliever as well as preventer for the first time (Ventolin doesn't work for me at all - makes no difference).
Any advice appreciated, thanks.

My immediate thought is whether it could be related to some tube you may have had put into your throat to manage breathing during the op? Some drugs given for anaesthesia can suppress ability to breathe.
GAs can definitely affect breathing. I'm not allowed a GA unless in an emergency/unavoidable situation because I'm too much of a risk. My brother had an op in July and was chesty after and he's not asthmatic now, had a blue inhaler as a child but not since he was 10. Now 37!
