Hello from a new boy
Hello Everyone - I have been diagnosed for 9 years and am better now than i was 4 years ago. I put that down to seeing a marvellous Neuorlogist in Cambridge (not my home town) who recommended Azilect as an adddition to my Sinemet Plus and Amantadine and to change my Ropinirole to Requip XL. This change

Chest Pain
I recently suffered pains in the chest, this started as a dull just to the left of the Sternum which was on and off during the day never at night that I am aware of. Gradually over a couple of days this got worse and spread into the Neck and at the same time I experienced a slight numbness in the Left

I find I can control my tremor
It is about 6 years since I was diagnosed and my tremor is now in my right arm and leg, only to be expected I know that. At the moment, as directed by my Parkinsons nurse, I am experimenting with taking my meds at different times and sometimes before, sometimes with and other times after food. Sometimes

Getting worse!!!
I am so frustrated!! I am 53 and by my movements I act like I am 103!! I take Requip XL 4 times a day plus Azilect and I am not showing any steady reaction. I know PD is a progressive disease but Good Lord, I am getting worse everyday. I called my Dr. and he referred me to a Dr. @ the OU Medical

Hello everyone!
Hello everyone. I suffer with severe Emphysema, also Angina and depression. Well, they do say things come in 3's! One thing I'm glad that I haven't lost is my sense of humour and although I do have 'dark days', I know that the 'sunshine' is waiting on the other side :)

Does anyone else shout out in their sleep?
I have always had dreams and can remember most of them, but just recently I have started talking and shouting in my sleep. My husband says I speak quite clearly, but strangely enough I can never remember what these dreams are about. I assume that this something to do with meds but have been unable to

Do our bodies get used to our meds?
I have already commented on the fact that my meds are not doing their job at the moment. This has happened to me before and usually rights itself. I have a hospital appointment soon, if it does not. I was wondering if I am getting used to taking the same meds - Stalevo and Requip XL, as I have been

'wearing off' and meds
I take Stalevo and Requip XL. I have been rereading answers to this question which was posed recently. My 'wearing off' takes a slightly different form. I find that for a period of days I get very little relief from my tablets. Sometimes they do not seem to work at all and sometimes only for very short

Symptoms of a heart attack / angina in men.
I don't mean to appear morbid but one of the problems with being diagnosed with high cholesterol (whether you believe this can cause MI or not) is you are hyper sensitive to any twinges in the chest area (especially as you pass 40 - as in my case). There doesn't seem to be a lot of information out there

Hello. I have a Nitrolingual spray for Angina. If the ache/pain is not angina ,would the spray make any reduction of the pain?
3weeks ago I was admitted to hospital with pain in my jaw, neck , shoulder, arm and an ache in the chest. I also felt weak and close to fainting. Following ECG , Echo then Angiogram I have been told by the doctor that it's unlikely it's heart trouble. Since I've been home I've had the jaw pain ,neck

Problems experienced while on Requip XL?
I tak 6mg of Requip daily and thought I did not have any problems with this. However, I am now wondering whether cramps, etc. in my lower legs, etc. can be attributed to Requip? I would be grateful to know of any problems people have experienced whilst taking Requip, however minor, before I keep my

I take 6mg of Requip XL daily
I take 6mg of Requip XL daily. I usually take mine in the morning but have noticed that other people take it at night. I don't recall being told when to take this, but that doesn't mean anything. I don't recall much of anything! Does anyone find it works better if taken at a certain time? To be

stopping dopamine agonist to start taking sinamet, how long to give in between?
I have been taking Pramipexole for a week and a half, before that Requip xl, 6mg for a year. I have to completely stop taking Prami for a week before starting Sinamet. This is going to be hard as its technically going "cold turkey". Is there anything I can do to clear Prami from my system faster

I have noticed that a lot of y'all are on requip XL but at a low dosage. Is it because of the other meds you are taking that you
don't need as much of it? Requip was the first meds (along with Zelapar) my neuro 's put me on. The highs and lows of the regular requip about did me in. So, I've been on the XL for a few years- still does a # on my stomach but it works most days. I just started amantadine and am wondering if (all goes

Are you at your best morning or later on?
I find that I am better in the morning and decline during the day. Evenings my tablets often don't seem to work for very long and sometimes not at all. Now that I take a Stalevo during the night, I usually function reasonably well until I take another at 7 a.m. After breakfast, I take 6mg of Requip

I am 39 and taking 2 to 4 Madopar tablets a day do you think I will end up with dyskinesia?
I am starting Pramipexole .52mg per day prolonged release in the morning as Requip XL 6mg is not working out. The idea is that I take the lower dosage of dopamine agonist and top it up with Madopar. I am worried that I will end up with dyskinesia due to my age and how early I am taking Levodopa.

Comments on Madopar and Requip XL
Currently taking 22mg Requip XL once a day at 7:30am .I've already tried Sinemet but they made me feel worse.PD nurse suggested Madopar dissolvable , 1x 62.5mg a day before i get up as i have mobility problems first thing in the morning. Does anyone out there have any experience of this combination?
