Cold and tired
For two evenings, now, I have felt terribly cold at around 7 pm. I took some Paracetamol and it seems to go with that. I don’t cough at all. During the night, my throat feels dry and I cough because of the dryness. In the morning, I cough up a little bit of straw colour sputum. My nose is running, so

First hospital admission - worried
Hi Everyone I've been asthmatic for over 18 years (I'm now approaching 40!) Between December 2013 and August 2014 I needed four courses of Pred and antibiotics. But from August 2014 I've had good consultant care and an excellent home action plan. Usual medications are; Seretide 250 2 puffs twice

I have been diagnosed with 'mild bronchietasis' - I would hate to think what moderate or severe is like given my symptoms. Excessive sticky mucus which is so difficult to shift without doing huffing, postural drainage, physio (hubby does this thankfully) and take my meds. I have recently started with

Daughter in intensive care
My daughter has just turned 13 and she has had asthma all her life. For the last 9 years she has been under a consultant and although shes had many attacks they have been mild and managed by the gp or a&e with a few nebs and steroids. However in Aug 2013 she had an attack that landed her in hospital

Having A Bit Of A Dither
Was dithering this morning...couldn't decide what to do or when to do it and I've mislaid my scalpel thingy which I needed for something...not that I can remember what it was now...didn't know whether I could face tackling a shower which tends to veer towards a major undertaking, what with putting the

Recovery time in hospital?
When I end up in hospital , it seems to take about two weeks to recover enough to go home, usually a week on very regular nebs and iv aminophylline then reducing nebs but still needed. Already on symbicort, uniphyllin, qvar, spiriva, cetirizine, montelukast and azithromycin so they can't step up with

Someone stole my oxygen
Right, here's an odd one. I don't think anyone had similar experiences, but it's worth a shot. I had a first asthma attack in July last year and have been fine every since, doing a lot of rather hard sport and having a good time. These last two weeks I had a rather annoying cold that has moved down

Horrible Nightmares Plague My Sleep...
Why does the time go by so quickly...no sooner am I up than it's time for bed again. Mind you, I like my bed...well, actually it's the settee. Himself used to putter about being 'left on his own' when I went to bed in the bedroom so we devised this cunning plan...I'd go to bed on the settee and then

Belated Happy New Year!
Good Morning to you all! Well it has been a long three weeks!! We had a great run up to Christmas, a great Christmas do, a fab Christmas eve, lovely Christmas day, family boxing day - then we were hit by the lurgy. (Probably serves me right I was pretty smug that I had kept us bug free!!) . It started
