Received shielding letter, unsure why.
I'm currently very confused and unsure. I have what I thought was mild asthma. I've never had an attack, never been admitted to hospital or given oxygen. My symptoms are well controlled during the day, however I have been seeing a specialist as I wake during the night feeling breathless. I had several

Hospital admission bad asthma with no wheeze
Went to A&E this morning after a terrible night. Went in with a really tight chest unable to speak or get air in or out properly. Was expecting problems as no wheeze. But to my surprise the doctor looking after me could see I was struggling and not responding well to Salbutamol nebs. ITU was mentioned

Fostair - So far so good!
Well Peeps, day 3 of the previously dreaded Fostair on the advice of my GP practice Pharmacist/Respiratory Nurse, & no side effects whatsoever. What I was dreading was similar to the previous 'maintenance' inhalers, Tiotropium & Aclidinium, both of which delivered a paradoxic reaction & had to be stopped

Inhaled steroids may not work for half of asthma patients.
Inhaled corticosteroids have been the mainstay of treatment for persistent asthma for decades. A new trial suggests that for the ~50% of asthma patients with low sputum eosinophils, inhaled steroids are no better than placebo, and neither was tiotropium. Treatment with the inhaled glucocorticoid mometasone

Osteoporosis at 53 due to steroids
Hi, I've just found out I've got osteoporosis in my spine probably due to steroids 😞 my hips are going the same way. I've been on the highest dose of Seretide for years and in the last 12 mths have had 3 lots of oral steroids too as I've got mild bronchiectasis too. I now take a smaller dose and am

Spiriva respimat.
Hi all. I found this recently. It's from 2011 in the British medical journal with regards Spiriva respimat. As someone with COPD and a heart condition I shall be aiming to come off it. Especially as I've been having palpitations since I've been using it. You may want to check it out for yourselves.

Appt with consultant
Hi everyone. I don’t often post but like to read all yours. I was told 8 yrs ago I had mild emphysema and given Tiotropium I have been fine all this time. 6/8 months ago I started getting more breathless until now going up stairs or uphill is a bit of a nightmare. I have a blue inhaler but it doesn’t

Tiotropium Inhaler (your opinion of, please)
Was invited to try this for my Asthma, but am somewhat reluctant as - the more meds that get added to a daily regime - the more opportunity for side-effects and interactions with other drugs. Interested to learn of others experiences with this Inhaler. Thanks in advance for any Comment.

Has any one tried Stiolto Respimat
Has anyone tried Stiolto Respimat-
tiotropium
bromide and
olodaterol
Inhalation Spray? My doctor just gave it to me yesterday and said it was new. It is taken two inhalations once per day. My first time was last night a couple hours before bed. I sleep so well.
