Any thoughts/advice please
Hi suppose I am one of the lucky ones regarding no symptoms I am in permanent AF and take Warfarin,
Slozem
(120) atoravastatin, Losartan(100) and other meds for Asthma and Pancreatic issues. Heart rate is between 80/100 on average according to nurse at docs.

Moan about ignorant medics
After a few months I found my pharmacist had provided
Slozem
instead. I was concerned because I had seen on s couple of websites that it is bad to change your make of diltiazem because they have different formulations. It was too late to complain so I shrugged and took the

Which came first?
Cardioversion in 4 weeks to hopefully get me back in nsr ( previous cardioversion and
slozem
has not achieved this) and on the list for ablation which will be done under general anaesthetic. Then hopefully I can say goodbye to the amiodarone!

Slow release diltiazem, Adizem versus Slozem etc
Then the pharmacist gave me
Slozem
instead. I was worried because I had seen a warning that it is bad to change your brand of diltiazem because the new one may work differently and I could see the formulation was different. Anyway I took it and am so pleased I did.

Golly gee that was a waste of time or words to that effect
The
slozem
has not worked so I have been put on diogoxin and ramipril. She feels I need to be referred to an EP ( you don't say) I informed her that I insisted that my gp did this , and thankfully he has. She is going to write to EP and thinks ablation may be the answer.

The 40 ton truck that is AF!
The results of a recent ECG show a rate of between 100 - 175, so the
slozem
has not been working. I have had a failed cardioversion too. I suspect that because my condition was undiagnosed for so long I have now got heart failure. My ef (?) is 30% as opposed to 60 65%.

Could anyone tell me, when is it necessary to fit a Pacemaker after Ablation .Also what experiences have people had with notifying the DVLA
Wondering if this is because I have not been able to tolerate either of the drugs tried so far which were Bisoporal and
Slozem
. From the posts I have read it seems to be that post Ablation a Beta blocker is needed for at least a short period.
