Daughters asthma seems to be getting worse instead of better
Sarah is on flixotide,
salmeterol
and salbutamol. She is needing her salbutamol quite a lot (up to 5 or 6 times a day) her peak flow is also low and my friend mentioned to me that she does not seem to be able to blow very hard on her spacer to get her medication to her lungs properly.

doctor refusing to refer to specialist
He prescribed
Salmeterol
one puff at night if he starts coughing at night. I explained he doesn't suffer nighttime problems, only the night before an attack. He did not examine my son at all and said he looks well.

salmeterol
I expected him to possibly up his brown inhaler (currently1x100 twice daily) but instead offered us
Salmeterol
(2x twice daily) he said we could either leave things as they are and see how it goes or start on
salmeterol
with a review in a months time.

Asthma med and high blood pressure
Hi all, Has anyone had any raised blood pressure problems from asthma meds, I have read that LABAs (
salmeterol
, seretide, advair, symbicort, oxis, formeterol) can raise blood pressure. It would be good to know if anyone has a problem with this. Cheers RI

How well do you know your meds?
So I started reeling off the drug names - Montelukask,
Salmeterol
etc. No, she said, I want you to tell me the dose of each. Okay, so I said, Montelukast 1 tablet at night,
Salmeterol
, 2 puffs twice a day etc.

Symbicort SMART, histamine challenge test, ethanol free atrovent
means the
salmeterol
can make you very shaky. I'm totally up for being less shaky, if Symbicort achieves this.

Coughs/colds as a trigger
After a great summer where i came off all my inhalers, the change in season/weather and increase in people with coughs/colds etc i've gone from no inhalers to 3 inhalers (beclomethasone,
salmeterol
, salbutamol) and had two chest infections in one month, both of which i was on antibiotics and steroids

Serevent and Oxis
Hi all I am currently taking Oxis (formoterol) in the form of a turbohaler - however, I don't particularly like this type of inhaler and would prefer an aerosol, the obvious choice being Serevent (
salmeterol
). However they are different drugs, would a straight swap be possible?

Cost of inhalers
Hi I have just been to Tenerife on holiday and realised I had left my
Salmeterol
at home - and taken three salbutamol, as well as my tiotropium. Much to my relief,I found a pharmacy where I could buy a
Salmeterol
inhaler over the counter - at a cost of 35 euros!

serevent safety risks
However I came across a few warnings on
salmeterol
that there was a warning of an increased death rate. Does anyone know if there was any final verdict on its the safety? As it seems a lot of people use seretide and serevent.

Am I being impatient?
I'm on 30mg of Prednisolone, amoxicillin, 400mg of beclometasone (twice a day), 100mg of
salmeterol
(twice a day) and I still feel like I'm constantly tight-chested. None of these medicines seem to keep my attacks at bay for very long and I'm still using my reliever as often as I can.
