Don't know what to do
Since the end of august we are back struggling despite his usual meds of seretide 125 2 puffs twice a day, nedocromil, flixonase and
salbutamol
. He had a course of steroids about 5 weeks ago and is now on another after an admission last week. We are back frequently using ventolin.

grumbling"" lungs, help?
I had medical attention earlier for something unrelated to my asthma (although my asthma has been playing up again, not to the point of needing anything but regular-ish
salbutamol
) & had my chest checked. I was told I wasn't wheezing, but I have a lot of ""grumbling"" in my left lung.

chest infection doens't seem to be shifting.
I'm also using a lot more
salbutamol
than I usually do. should I see my GP or wait a few more days to see if it fully shifts on its own?

Anyone able to relate?
I try to relieve it with the
salbutamol
, which sometimes works although I hope he can not be overdosed on this. I invested in an oximeter which is helpful. At one point in hospital the otherr night he dropped to 85%. Is this bad?

Inhalers with and without counters
Does this mean we don't get full doses of non-counter inhalers (
salbutamol
, other steroids etc)? or is it more that Seretide has a huge amount of unnecessary wastage? Any thoughts?

Confusing bit of advice
However, I feel that I would have just been clogging up A&E and using my spacer and
salbutamol
seemed to eventually control it. Surely in this situation I am fine to stay at home to rest and then seek walk in next day?

Great presentation on life-threatening asthma treatment

What now?
Unfortunately I've hit a bit of a brick wall with my asthma :( I'm on Seretide, Ventolin, Uniphyllin, Certrizine, montelukast, pred (ment to be 10mg but can't get below 25mg these days) I've tried atrovent, tiotropium, symbicort, oral
salbutamol
(put me in a funny heart rhythm :/ ) and Xolair to no avail

Montelukast & coordination problems
She had believed - as had I - that it was all to do with my
salbutamol
use, but now that I'm barely using it we can't blame it on that. I've been on salmeterol for nearly 20 years so that's not 'new' enough to explain the symptoms.

asthma, anxiety or both?
I think it may be both but I'm not sure how to tell. my peak flow is constantly around 320-330 (before
salbutamol
), my best is usually 490/500. my inhalers seem to bring it up to 360-370. my only symptoms are chest pain/tightness which eases with
salbutamol
but doesn't fully go away.

Symbicort SMART-good for relief?
I had an attack yesterday and found that I did not feel relief from symbicort and found myself grabbing for my
salbutamol
which after quite a few puffs relieved me.

What Next?? More Pred?
I've also started using
Salbutamol
a 3/4 times a day as well. I also already take Seretide 250 four times a day and Singular. I'm thinking of going back to see the doc tomorrow as I thought I would be better by now and I'm a bit concerned at taking any more Pred.

Just come off steroids and still not 100%
The second one I had had
salbutamol
& a steroid in. It was so so strong I could hardly breathe throught the mask - it made me more wheezy ! no idea what they put in that one. HAs this happened to anyone else.

Help keeping house cool in hot weather
Been to walk in clinic, they say lungs clear to up
salbutamol
dose. Yesterday noticed my steroid inhaler wasn't giving the full squirt so have changed that and using a new spacer. If that was the prob hopefully will be recovering soon now, but today I still have 27C inside.
