Retacrit

He scheduled me for a series of up to 20 weekly Retacrit shots at an out patient Emory facility. Per web searches, “Retacrit works like the human protein called Erythropoietin to help your body make RBCs. It treats anemia.” I’ve had 5 of the Retacrit shots and my hemoglobin is now at 10.4.

I am on Faslodex, Verzenio, Zometa, and (now intermittently) Retacrit (Procrit), along with pain meds, etc., but I really think it is nee of the first three that is causing the problem in my hands and feet (among other things).

FINALLY, I had to almost be crawling to the doctor before they'd approve RETACRIT, a newer generic of procrit. It is given sub q monthly and my first shot was July 17, and weekly blood tests are required.

I give him 3X week an injection of Procrit (not retacrit) and the numbers are going down still. His energy has been low since February and he does little around the house (he's retired) and I work full time. He has no energy and it drives him nuts. He shakes badly from medications too.
