Monkey Gone to Heaven
I’ve finally managed to get a good nights sleep, but I’m still feeling quite tired and my neck is quite painful, I suppose I have quite a lot of sleep to catch up on. As I said in a previous post I was going to write about the topic of the use of primates in medical research, so one of the reasons this

Could this be symptoms of Viral Meningitis?
Friday August 5th I suddenly became sick: Vomiting, diarrhea, etc. Figured it was just a little bug so I went to bed. Woke up Saturday, August 6th feeling better. Monday, August 8th, found a rash on my chest that seemed to have appeared over night. Very itchy and burning. Over the week from August 8th-August

Measuring Tourette's
Measurement is important because hard numbers can prove things that vague impressions cannot. Measuring the severity of TS is notoriously difficult for a variety of reasons. First, the tics are very variable, even from hour to hour in some people. They also vary over longer time-frames (the famous 'waxing

The Dreaded Manflu
I’ve escaped! Well, for a short while, whilst we enjoy a lovely Christmas dinner with the in-laws. Yesterday was my 37th birthday which the walking manflu didn’t realise until 3.15, no card, no present, (no Christmas present either) this has been an on-going problem since 2003 not just a manflu hic-up

This is the current survey question and results, so far.... How much did you know about meningitis before it touched you/your family? - 82% of you had heard about meningitis but didn't know much - 18% didn't know anything at all At the Meningitis Trust we are very active trying to get meningitis signs

So what do doctors know.....
about viral meningitis. Well as it happens in my experience not a great deal. I contracted it in July 2002 (July 13th as it happens, sort of stuck in my brain if you see what I mean) and was seriously ill in hospital with the sort of stats that make nurses take a sharp intake of breath. My eldest daughter

What are the risks to me (on anti-TNF + Methotrexate) of being exposed to shingles?
I've heard people in the day-care unit talking about getting shingles and how its disrupted their treatment. Now an old friend is coming back to the UK for a short holiday and I'd love to see her, but she says she's had shingles. Before I say anything, what do we know about shingles and how it can be
