Pramipexole

first experienced RLS 40 years ago most GPs had no idea and prescribed sedatives which were totally wrong for this condition I have managed it through other things ie walking on cold floor massage and been successful 5O % of the time until recently and the symptoms have worsened …a GP has prescribed Pramipexole

My specialist has prescribed me 100mg Pre Gablin together with 0.44mg of pramipexole daily. I have, over a period of 3 Months been increasing my dose of pramipexole from the minimum to where we are now.

After many years of treatment with pramipexole, had augmentation and is now using morphine to taper off and then have to start on pregabalin. Is 82 years old.

I’ve been on Pregabalin for 10 months after coming off Pramipexole. I’m taking 350mg around 8:30pm but have given up trying to go to bed before 11:30-midnight. Whilst RLS is well controlled, the PLMD isn’t. Most recently I am now getting PLMD as soon as or shortly after I get into bed.

I can't remember exactly when but at some point I switched to Pramipexole. Of course, that worked marvelously for many years up until about 2020 when I finally augmented at 7.5 mg.

I’m in the process of switching from Pramipexole to Pregabalin. To help ease the transition - Just got a Rx today for buprenorphine/naloxone (2/.5mg); I intend to cut the strips into fourths.

Situation: I am five days in without Pramipexole and I haven’t managed the situation very well. I am getting very little sleep because I have only been taking 3 x 200mgs Gabapentin. I only have 50 x100mgs left of Gabapentin before I switch to Pregabalin .

Have had RLS for 14 years, was prescribed all the available RLS medication: Ropinirole, Pramipexole (both miraculous at the beginning) Neupro patch ( never tolerated it), Gabapentin, Pregabalin (I would fall asleep eating my dinner), and Tramadol then Codeine to help with coming off Pramipexole due

She totally supports me coming off pramipexole and wants me to start with Gabapentin at a much higher dose than before. Then she brought up using opioids as she recognised the severity of my RLS. So have also got a prescription for Buprenorphine/naloxone. I am to keep taking the iron supplement.

My GP appeared unhappy that I had been proactive in trying to get off Pramipexole etc. anyway he will prescribe Oxycodone but at 5mg at night, he says this is equivalent to the dose suggested by Neurologist as the naloxone in Targinact reduce the Oxycodone.

I need some advice when it comes to starting Horizant while moving away from Pramipexole. I've been on Pram for about 12 years and although it still works generally, it's getting less an less effective. So it's time to move on. Gabapentin Enacarbil (Horizant) is what I'm moving to.

I've been prescribed pramipexole by sleep specialist and my doctor. They're following the Mayo algorithm so I have to do this before they'll consider opioids. I've tried pregabalin, etc without success. Starting pramipexole on .125mg, up to max .75mg.

I started with .25mg pramipexole (Sifrol) now taking .75mg and olmesartan/amlodipine for high blood pressure. I have had rls before this but only occasionally. He has now suggested an iron tablet Maltofer which I am starting today. I have a history of low iron, borderline anaemic at times.

After 1 year He told me that if I didn't get off Pramipexole in the next six months he would no longer treat me. He said he has patients going Cold Turkey all the time and what am I waiting for. We rented a cabin in Mexico. I stoped taking Pramipexole.

Started on Pramipexole at that time and after a year switched to Ropinerole, which didn't do as much. Switched back about 10 years ago. On it ever since. Going to try Gabapentin Enacarbil, which works differently. Haven't started it yet. Can't get a definitive answer on the transfer.

I recently was able to wean completely off my pramipexole Rx over the course of about a month. (I had been taking it for 6-7 years, increasing over time b/c of augmentation, from .12 mg nightly to about .35 nightly and rising).

Tried all the medication available for rls Pramipexole was useful but stopped working so went onto Neupro which was useless. Back on pramipexole for 1 month Gained 7lbs and feel so bloated and sore Also on buspirone for anxiety, I feel its exasperated it ?

At that time, I was taking pramipexole ER. All the patients begged me to stop because they all had experienced augmentation. At first, I said: "I know. I hear you. But it's working for me, and RLS is worse, so ... thanks but mind your own business."

My GP is happy for me to reduce the Pramipexole and has started me on Gabapentin. Although she says she wouldn’t be happy for me to take more than 600mg a day.

I’ve run into a RLP problem trying to get off pramipexole. I reduced the pramipexole from .5 mg to .375 mg. I’m into my 4 th week. I’ve increased the Gabapentin to 600 mg and having to use codine twice daily. I’m taking 5 mg of codine per dose. I’m still having from moderate to severe RLS pain.
