Hi all, just read a copy of my consultants report to my GP, and he recommends this drug for me. What is it? Anyone else on it?

Life insurance with severe asthma
On Ventolin/Fostair Nexthaler/Spiriva/
Phyllocontin
but not continuous pred. Was on montelukast but cons thinks it's useless and took me off. I've had about 23 full admissions in total over 4-5 years. No HDU or ITU.

Any New News on Xolair? How essential oils have helped me be calmer.
My doctor prescribed depression drugs to counteract the side effect my
phyllocontin
was giving me. I no longer need them I am glad to say. When one gets used to the smells from real aromas instead of the fake aromas, one can spot a fake smell anywhere even before it makes their asthma start.

The drugs
This was changed and I now use the Aclidinium twice, a new inhaler called Relvar once in the morning, and a
Phyllocontin
pill twice a day. The difference has been amazing. The nebuliser is only needed once or twice a day and I can now go for walks, which I was too scared to do before.

Silly question
Take
Phyllocontin
tablet, morning and night. Last night I had tremendous cramping of legs and toes. Lasted about three hours. Every time I thought oh good it's away, it came back. Know you're not supposed to have alcohol with theophylline but surely two wee bottles can't have caused it?

I'm at a bit of a loss
I'm currently taking fostair 100/6 , spiriva, salbutamol, montelukast,
phyllocontin
, fexofenadine, and have had repeated courses of prednisolone until about January this year when my consultant decided to keep me on 30mg maintenance dose. None of these meds seem to make a great deal of difference.

It is not rocket science...
Tiotropium 18 slow release once a day,
Phyllocontin
225 twice a day. Salbutamol if I need it. I am religious in taking my meds every day-never miss. Eating. Fresh vegetables and fruits and quality protein.....eg cheeses, moderate amount butter, eggs, skimmed milk, pulses, fish but NO meat.

Might be a coincidence but we wondered if the
phyllocontin
stopped him retaining carbon dioxide. Anyone experienced this.

More on Phyllocontin
I since found out from the COPD Nurse that
phyllocontin
was an old drug that had been replaced by Sprirva which I have been taking for a couple of years now. I went to all the trouble of making sure that I brought the medication to Watford General for my 3 monthly review.

New medication
I have recently been prescribed
phyllocontin
as I have quite severe COPD and ever since I have felt really nauseous and find it hard to keep any food down. I did try dry toast and yoghurt but still feel queasy. I have been taking these pills since Monday and still feel slightly sick.

Phyllocontin causing a big problem!!!!
Has anybody been prescribed
phyllocontin
continus 225 mg prolonged release tablets Aminophylline Hydrate? I was given these tablets at the end of August this year and was told they would help keep my lungs open.

CF Testing Clear!!
I have had a blood test recently for Theophylline levels, as I take
Phyllocontin
Continus, 1 tab twice a day, but the GP called and said it is still well below the guidelines. My result was 7, and should be between 10-17.
