Post ablation (1 week) and back in AFib. How often is this likely to happen over next few weeks?
Have had PAF for a few years and this year episodes became lengthier and more frequent, the latest lasting 4 weeks. Had a Cryo-ablation last Tuesday at Lancashire Cardiac Centre and was ok for a week, albeit with a few spells of ectopic beats and a very short run of AF (30-40 seconds only). Went on

To start blood thinners or not?
For the last three years I’ve suffered paroxysmal AFIB about once every month or two on average. I believe it to be vagally related as it typically occurs in the early hours of the morning and normally I can trace the trigger back to large meals and indigestion or alcohol consumption. Normally my heart

Post Ablation Hypertension
I'm a male, age 88 who had persistent AF of unknown cause for 3 years, at the time on Dyazide and 10 mg Bystolic for mild essential hypertension. I had a successful RF ablation in May 2023, after which Dyazide was replaced by 20 mg Lasix, and the Bystolic was increased to 30 mg. Immediately after the

Has anyone ever been told that ablation will not work for them?
Hi all i am quite baffled as to why private cardiologist has referred me to one of his colleagues for ablation. I have been told numerous times, by nhs cardiologists, that ablation will not work to treat my afib. If fact one previous doctor said, "Ablation is out of the question due to extent of enlarged

Just to update, I now feel quite sick , still lightheaded but that turns to a headache. The pains I describe come and go. Would this happen if it was my afib playing up

Amiodarone and AF
I had cardioversion in August at Bart’s to restore sinus rhythm after being in persistent AF for 6 months. Been on amiodarone and pleased to report not a single flutter since. Had transformed my life. Cardiologist wants to reduce my dose and later change me to another drug. Does anyone have experience

Supraventricular Ectopies
I’m looking for reassurance, my friends. I am plagued by many palpitations these days, which my Kardia says are mostly SVEs, with a bit of Afib thrown in - unless of course Kardia is incorrect and they are all Afib ! I see a cardiologist annually and actually, because I complained of these palpitations

Swollen cord-stump after castration?
I got castrated three years ago, because the boys were inflammated, hard and numb. The right one cut out inguinal, got examinamed in pathology with result: no cancer. Thereby the left one got cut out from his sac-shelf directly, so i have the cord stump still in my inguinal left. It was often swollen

Macular Hole
Hi, long term PMR/GCA sufferer been on 4mg for long enough and staying there! However I developed a macular hole which needed surgery. Has anyone else had this problem, is there likely any association of cause with GCA /PMR or Pred? Surgery done now and I have to wait and see how successful it is.

too old for ablation?
My mom (81) has had bradycardia and afib for decades. About 5 years ago, she got a pacemaker and was put on sotalol & Metropolol, which controlled things well for a while. Recently, she’s been having more frequent episodes of afib (lasting a week or so at a time). Her Dr suggested an ablation, but

Looking for my Miracle
I've had persistent AFib for decades. Cardiologist and EP suggested ablation, watchman, every pill and treatment out there but I never felt they were the right thing to do, other than taking many meds, Altace, Toprol XL, Amiodarone, etc. Most recently I had to go onto Xarelto, 'tho I resisted it for

I am really unwell right now an loosing the will to carry on. Know I should seek some medical help but who do I go to for help? Honestly, over the past 18 months I have had to fight to get the help I needed via the NHS. What a battle that was. Last week, had severe palpitations lasting 6 hours which

Dear AFA forum family. Isn't life wonderful? I joined the AFA forum some four years ago and had it not been for chance encounters, who knows where I would be today. It started with an AFA post titled "Tim' Story". At the time of his post (several years ago) Tim was 55 and his story mirrored my own
