I need help to stop smoking....can someone help? Thanks for your support :)
have been diagnosed with COPD in 2007 and got for the start Salamol. But no one has really told me about that it can be very serious. And my English was not so good to understand this illness, only much much later where I was getting more chest infections and breathing problems and tiredness and so on

Hi all, Sorry if this turns into a bit of a moan but I feel like I am at a bit of a dead end asthma wise when I know it should not be this way. For those who don't know, basically, I have had asthma for over 25 years (since I was 2) and have been up and down the treatment ladder including being on

Getting the best treatment now.
I was diagnosed 8 years ago with copd and was prescribed salbutamol and atrovent. I struggled with my breathing and on more than one ocassion I have asked my doctor if there was any other medicine that might make a difference and he always maintained that I was on the right medication for my condition

Soph's POSITIVE cons apt :-)
Heya all, As some of you will probably know, Soph is having a pretty rough time with uncontrolled asthma and far too frequent serious hospital admissions. She also has had a lot of bad luck with consultant appointments, and like (I suspect) a lot of us, struggles to articulate how things really are

Should I stay or should I go now
I have been struggling all last week with my asthma and hay fever obviously the current very high and high pollen count and hot weather are not helping me. Unfortunately, things are getting worse for me, yesterday I used a total 26 puffs Bricanyl reliever for the day, and a total of 10 nebs for the day

Muscle weakness
Does anyone else suffer muscle weakness, especially in the biceps, forearms and to a lesser extent in the thighs and legs? By the way!
I have just started taking a regular dose of Atrovent HFA (along with my Symbicort) firth thing in the morning and I find that this really helps in reducing by breathlessness in the shower and sets me up for the rest of the day. I also take Spiriva after breakfast. I also take Atrovent and Symbicort

To nebulise or not to nebulise, that is the question?
There appears to be a fair amount of conjecture amongst the COPD medical fraternity as to the merits or otherwise of nebulising. They accept that there are occasions when, in the case of asthmatics when nebulising medication is beneficial, especially when the sufferer is gasping for breath and unable

General help please!
I was diagnosed with asthma 15 years ago after a bad bout of flu that turned to bronchitis. I am 66 yrs old now. I was a smoker in those days.(not now!!) My GP at the time felt I had always had asthma to varying degrees. My worry is that since that bronchitis I have asthma symptoms every day. Chest tightness
