Gallbladder removal
My main concern is the bile/acid reflux and how this will affect me after having the
oesophagectomy
. I have had a look on t'internet but don't believe everything on there to be accurate.

Can anyone tell me what sort of op. I had? I'm getting confused by all the names. I have a scar down the centre of my front, and one that starts by my right breast goes under my arm to the back, and up to my shoulder blade. Is that an Ivor Lewis? ( I also have three little scars from my cholecystectomy

Is there anybody out there who,in addition to oesophago/gastrectomy, has also had their Gallbladder removed ?
Cholecystectomy---side effects Did the Gallbladder removal take place before /during/or after the
oesophagectomy
?

Nails
Some years ago I noticed a faint black line on my little finger, gradually this progressed to a much darker line which became broader,I asked my GP what he thought it could be, he just said that the nail bed was probably damaged and it would heal in time, I couldn't clip the nail normally as it hurt,

Do you sneeze a lot?
Most of us seem to have had a cough after an esophagectomy, but I sneeze in a different way as well since surgery. I sneeze so violently I once knocked myself over. I can sneeze up to thirty times in quick succession with hardly time to catch a breath in between. I try to sit down, or at least lean

Anyone achieved any big sporting feats post surgery?
Looking for someone who has achieved a sporting feat post
oesophagectomy
, eg. Marathon, half marathon, climbed a mountain etc etc. Need some big reassurance for my 45 year old sporty husband who has his surgery this coming Monday.

New Beginning
Hi all, my story hopefully not to boring but an insight, I am 11 months post op from an esophagectomy operation, we take life for granted a lot of the time until something goes wrong with our health, I was 3 stone overweight for years and living with a large hiatus hernia, I ate what I wanted and when

Deep bone-like pain in back, hip and thigh after esophagectomy; has anyone else experienced similar?
I am almost three years out from Transhiatal esophagectomy for end-stage achalasia. The more active I become, the more I am having a deep pain in my back, hip, and upper thigh. The pain is almost completely on the left side, and made worse by periods of standing, walking, or bending over. The pain

I'm home post op
Hi everybody, I am now home following my cardio-
oesophagectomy
on the 22.10.12 at Preston Royal. Everything went well and the histology appears to be good. I did contract a urine and chest infection but antibiotics are sorting it.

See below - Barrett's after oesophagectomy
I'm 18months post op from my
Oesophagectomy
. Had a Gastroscopy two weeks ago which showed a return of Barretts Oesophagus on the remaining piece that my stomach is attatched to. My consultant says it's low risk at present and i will have 6 monthly Gastroscopys to check on it.

New year's eve
About this time of year, three years ago, I began to notice occasional difficulty swallowing. It was December before I saw my GP. and was sent for an endoscopy. Just before Christmas i got a phone call from the hospital, would I go to ward 3 at about 1 o'clock on New Year's Eve. I thought that was very
