Hello Azura,

What drugs are you on? Chemo can really wreck your hairstyle.... the (only!) upside is that sticking plasters can be easily peeled from arms or legs! Hair does come back once you complete the Chemotherapy course, often with the 'Chemo Curl' feature and possibly a differant colour. Having been grey and balding for years I was looking forward to going through a 'Mick Hucknall' phase - red and curly. The red didn't happen but there was a dark wave at least (for a while anyway) ! Hang on in there, life does slowly get better after the op!

If you have had or on chemo? I lost hair but not on head but everywhere else!!!!!.It does grow back though and can be different.I was balding but ended up with thicker hair!! As said life does get better after op albeit slow process

Hi - I had the op 3 months ago. I managed to keep my hair during the pre-op chemo although it thinned, however after the op I lost more hair. I think it has just about stopped falling out now, but I am sure it is the added stress of the op that can do this. I have just managed to have what is left coloured again and the grey was depressing me and it is great and new hair is starting to come through.

All the best, Julie x

thanks for your feedback

Chemo medication does affect people in different ways, including hair loss, but it might be worth asking the medical staff at the hospital, particularly if there is a unit that looks after people with wigs and so on. I imagine that it all depends on how long the medication's effects are still around in the body.

The other thing that affects hair is stress - and you have probably had your fair share of that lately. A good hairdresser may be able to help, especially if it grows white or in tufts.

Either way, it usually grows back again in time, and you are faced with the problem (or opportunity?) of having a different way of organising your hair in the meantime.
