Confused and worried
I was diagnosed with APS after having 3 miscarriages and raised Igm levels of 21. Apart from the miscarriages I feel fine, so Dr Khamashta said I have pregnancy/obstetric only APS and advised I take 75mg aspirin daily. I'm worried because I've been reading about some of the awful symptoms some of

neurological symptoms
Hi I found out today I have Hughes syndrome after having 3 different elevated IgM anticardiolipin antibodies. The levels were 22, 19 and 14 so I think I'm of pretty low level. However I've been really ill all year starting with daily migraines for 3 months then having a possible transverse myelitis

Hi I am new here but not new to asthma. I have 4 boys, 9, 7, 4 and 20 months, 3 of whom have asthma. My 4 year old suffers the worst and has had numerous admissions for asthma and chest infections, they never seem sure which it is. He is on seritide 125 2 puffs morning and night, monteluecast granules

Severe asthma - Unconventional Treatment
Hi I have had severe asthma since infancy, but the past 1.5 years it has gotten much worse. I am on every asthma medication available, including at least 40 mg of prednisone a day, xolair, and ivig. my docs are now suggesting trying more aggresive treatments, as my pft's are slowly drifting down and

IV Immunoglobulin - any advice
Hi everyone, and a happy Easter to all hope you are enjoying the holidays. As title suggests I am after any advice from anyone who has had IVIG. My son had his first dose over last weekend - 2 lots of 16 hour infusions. He tolerated it well and apart from a sore cannula site he left hospital on Monday

Portacath
Hi I apologise if this has been discussed previously, I couldn't find anything in the search box. Due to having extremely rubbish veins and needing iv immunoglobulin every 3 weeks, I was told yesterday to consider having a portacath. I know all about them as I am a paediatric nurse on a CF ward, am

I keep getting pneumonia
Hello all I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience....Despite getting the pneumon-vax vaccination some years ago, I keep getting pneumonia. I have had it 6 or 7 times in the past 5 years, always warranting an admission (including ITU). Now, my resp consultant is checking my immunoglobulin

Interesting visit to the respiratory clinic
I went to the respiratory clinic on Tuesday, and just thought I'd let you know how it went. I saw a lovely young doctor, who had a great manner. (This is the first time I have seen a consultant about my asthma in many years). Anyway, he agreed that it was worrisome that I was getting so many pneumonias
