Graves - blood test
I bit the bullet and have messaged the GP this morning and requested a blood test ... I'll wait and see if they'll allow it. I realised whilst crying AGAIN in the shower this morning that something was very wrong, as I was struggling to get up again this morning, unable to go for my usual walk and crying

Hi I had blood tests 3 weeks ago which show an overactive thyroid. I started carbimazole 30mg daily and propranolol 20mg daily. I am due to be having surgery in 2 weeks to remove the right side of my thyroid. However, today I have been informed my FT4 has jumped to 28.2 and TSH is undetectable. Carbimazole

Long term -confused - Thyroid & pain in neck?
Hi, I'll try and be brief. It's been over 3yrs since I thought I had a thyroid problem. I was fobbed off with antidepressants and it took me years to get off them. I am still having problems and I know it is not just anxiety! I suffer with DPDR - dissociation. I feel spaced out often and disconnected

Oestrogen dominance & poor T3 conversion
I’m interested to get any information on oestrogen dominance and it’s impacts on thyroid especially with the conversion of T4 into T3 thyroid hormone, which leads to low T3 levels.

Does this look more Euthyroid and less central hypo now?
Hello everyone, This is my 4th thyroid test (all testing advice adhered to, tests between 9.00-9.40am) over the last 6 months since joining HU and asking for advice. It looks to me like T4 has started to raise. I've listed below all 4 tests for comparison. It's now 47% through the range which seems

Iodine - no thyroid.
I had my thyroid removed in 2003 due to papillary cancer. I have struggled ever since finding the right dosage/supplements. I have just watched Dr Sarah Myhilll's thyroid video for the umpteenth time and have purchased some of her supplements even though some of them contain iodine. Any thoughts

Thyroid question please...
Hi everyone, I am writing to ask if you can have a sore thyroid without significant enlargement and with 'normal' bloods? I have had 'normal' bloods, it doesn't seem visually enlarged, though I feel like I am being strangled and have audible sounds when I swallow in my ears. When I move my head something

A Novel Association Between Human Papillomavirus and Thyroid Eye Disease
For many years, a vast proportion of documents appear to say that Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) - also know under various other names such as Graves' Eye Disease or Graves' Ophthalmopathy - occurs in association with Graves' Disease - the disease which results in hyperthyroidism. You can talk to doctors

Update with Vit B12 & Folate results
Hi, I posted a little while ago with recent Thyroid results. SlowDragonsuggested I come back with some other results once I had them. I'm not diagnosed with a Thyroid issue as of yet. These results are following an appointment with an NHS Endocrinologist. I didn't think about him taking bloods at

Tapering Thyroid Med
Hello. I've been on thyroid meds (first synthetic for many years, then glandulars) since 1996. Over the past 3 years, as I've researched health/body, and read testimonials of people with hypo/Hashi's, I've very slowly tapered my dose down, with the hopes of someday not needing to rely on it for proper

Facing thyroid surgery?
Have you been told that you're hyperthyroid, and / or been told that you need to have your thyroid removed – but you're not convinced because your symptoms don't seem to match the diagnosis? That's exactly where I was nine years ago – and I want to urge you to follow your instincts ! To put it simply
