Icy feeling in chest
I was on
Flutiform
250mg x2 twice a day. They seemed to help a lot and eventually I stopped taking them just before Christmas. Recently I have noticed that when it is cold outside I get an icy feeling in my upper chest that I can't seem to shift.

My first post, how can I manage sleeplessness caused by asthma?
I'm on carbocisteine, montelukast (I note others have reported this being associated with sleep disturbance),
flutiform
, salamol, azithromycin and avamys.

Confused
The Medication I take is Thyroxine for Hypothyroidism,
Flutiform
for very mild Asthma and Amitriptyline 10mg one a night. The only other thing to add is that I am a 61 year old Menopausal woman. I was hoping to start taking HRT again following the outcome of the Ablation procedure.

Sinusitis link to asthma
On the plus side I recently changed from
Flutiform
to Seretide preventer and it's definately making me less wheezy- my main trigger is fumes (exhausts, cigarette smoke, or even frying/burnt food fumes!)

I am powerless
I tried Fostair, Symbicort, Seretide,
Flutiform
, Spiriva respimat. Nothing helps me. I have to take ventolin 2-4 times a day. I have shortness of breath and my chest is wheezing. Two days ago I had a meeting with a consultant and he said that he couldn't write anything new for me.

Not sure what to do
P.S I take Spiriva,
Flutiform
, and Alvesco. I'm doubled up on inhalers and have been for 2 weeks.

Controlled asthma & allergies- reducing meds
They want to reduce the following: -
Flutiform
: 2 puffs twice a day to once a day - Loratadine: 4 times a day to gradually reduce to once a day - Montelukast: stop All other meds I’m taking will remain the same.

Going back to seretide?
I’ve tried quite a few alternatives and have been on
flutiform
for a couple of years. But none have been as good as seretide in terms of controlling my exercise induced asthma, and peak flow. Has anyone had any success arguing to go back on it? Thanks

Weaning off inhalers
I’m currently on
flutiform
2 puffs twice daily, I was thinking to drop to 1 puff twice daily and see how that feels after a fortnight. I will maybe ring the go tomorrow and see if I can ask for a call with the asthma nurse. Thanks

Lung function test -do I stop my inhaler?
Ive been taking
flutiform
125/5 x2 twice a day since September. I have a hospital appointment for lung function tests on Friday. Do I stop or reduce the inhaler for a period beforehand? Thanks in advance

Changing inhalers
I've been changed from
flutiform
to fostair due to side effects. I've only been on the fostair a few days but it feels like it's not doing a great deal. My chest & upper back hurt. I laugh, I cough. I feel like I've got more shortness of breath than usual.

Flutiform issues.
I suspected that the increased dose of
flutiform
might be to blame and consulted my surgery asthma nurse. After trying several different approaches and changes of medications, I felt forced to return to
flutiform
125/5 as it was good at controlling the asthma and I just put up with the drawbacks.

Why is my breathing suddenly so bad?
My inhalers are
flutiform
(2 sprays twice per day which I have been taking during all of this time - I even tried doubling, tripling and quadrupling the dose to no avail) and ventolin (as needed - sometimes 8-12 sprays per day) which of course does help but not like it helped me feel normal prior to

Flutiform query as I am having problems
I mentioned that I had an occasional cough and she changed my preventer to
Flutiform
. Looking back I think that a couple of weeks after starting on
Flutiform
is when I started to feel a bit breathless on dog walks which has gradually become worse.

I’m having a moan...
On Friday evening and Saturday morning, I completely forgot to take 3 doses of antihistamines, 2 doses of
Flutiform
and a dose of montelukast. I have never missed a single dose of anything before and have no idea how taking my meds completely slipped my mind.
