3 years since starting chemo ...son to do Iron Man!
I'm constantly dipping into this forum but sometimes it feels hard to read stories of people newly diagnosed with CLL...it makes the trauma that we've been through come flooding back... 3 years ago this week I started
FCR
and it is this weekend that my son Dan takes part in an Iron Man (Bolton).

Hi everyone who had FCR chemo
I am to have it for the first time, is it likely to have side effects when I will get back home after the drip ? I live alone, how did You feel ?

Remission over .... venetoclax (&R) here we come
After 4 years of remission following
FCR
we heard yesterday that my husband’s remission is over. We had been suspecting this for about 6 months - the blood counts were going in the wrong direction, a chest infection and a nasty bout of pneumonia being the clues.

Remission after Bendamustine and Rituximab
I've not long completed treatment with Bendamustine and Rituxumab (
FCR
back in 2015). I'm now recovering, which mainly means getting my bowels back to normal. My bloods are good and expected to improve. I just wondered what is the average time in remission, after this treatment.

FCR VS BR
I've read on this forum
FCR
give longer remission. But there's a greater risk of infection. It would be really helpful if people would give their insight.

WHY IS CARBIDOPA USED IN COMBINATION WITH LEVODOPA IN DRUGS SUCH AS SINEMET?
This is a question that I have heard different answers for in different places on the web, but never was quite sure what the exact reason was, but I have noticed that there is a group who believes that Carbidopa itself can be a problem and would prefer alternatives to Carbidopa while some people use

Newly diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia or Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma - CLL/SLL or just found us? This post is for you!
FCR
, which has been in use for 15+ years and is recognised as effectively curing about 55% of those who are IGHV mutated (about half of us), is only just beginning to make a difference in reported survival statistics.

Emotional at 5 months FCR UK
New here Yeah. Thought it would be a breeze. I’m 60. Whoo. My emotions are all over the place. I’m doing well on all “counts” but as a gay man I don’t think my friends quite understand. Everything in the past is coming into my mind like cinema. My first boyfriend died of AIDS so memories are not comfortable.I

FCR or BR?
We visited two hospitals, one says
FCR
and the other one says BR. We really don’t know what to do. Any advice is welcome! Thanks.

FCR?
My concern is that there is a lot of posts about how toxic
FCR
is and the damage it can do. We live in the UK so I'm not sure what options we had. He sees his consultant in July so do we need to ask any questions about the damage
FCR
can do or has done. I'm just worried. Jenny UK

Move over MRD Negative and make way for uMRD - Undetectable Minimal Residual Disease
Dr Koffman covered in his panel address how U-MRD in the CLL world has gone from being valuable with
FCR
to being immaterial with Ibrutinib, where U-MRD was rarely reached, to being important again with the short term, non-chemo treatments currently being trialled.

Good News
I have had the results of my bone marrow biopsy this week and my six months of
FCR
chemo have done the trick, I am now clear of any signs of cll cancer cells. This obviously is a great relief and although fatigue is still part of my life I am hoping for many years of being cancer free.

CLL and related skin conditions
I had
FCR
treatment some 5 years ago and more recently a milder form of
FCR
to keep the CLL at bay. One of the apparent side effects from the CLL has been an increase in Keratosis and Squamus Cell Carcinoma which have been treated with liquid nitrogen and minor surgery.

C/L CR with food?
Many places it is written to avoid taking C/L with food. I think this to avoid the C/L absorption problems when the meal contain protein, and also, I guess if you take the C/L immediately after a large meal, it could be a while before the C/L reaches the small colon (where it can be absorbed)... But

Right decision? FCR vs. trial
I was worried about secondary MDS and AML with
FCR
in the light that I have a 14 year old daughter. I am grateful for the care I am getting and being able to talk to my hematologist who was open for me to start the trial despite her initial recommendation for
