I am sure this has probably been discussed before but I could not find an answer. How long after initial radiation should you wait to get a valid PSA test? Background Started Lupron 6 weeks prior to radiation and Casodex one week before that to reduce the spike of testosterone. Next week will be my

ELEVATED LABS AFTER SURGERY
I was diagnosed with MBC in the liver in March of 2019 and have been on
Faslodex
only since that time with stable scans and lab work. I fell 10/1 and fractured my femur near the hip. On 10/2 I had a partial left hip replacement. I missed my October oncology appointment and
Faslodex
shots.

Need some advice on what tools are still in the toolbox
Hi everybody, it’s been a while since I posted but I’m looking for some advice. I was diagnosed in the fall of 2019 with metastatic prostate cancer with 6 bone lesions (a few have shrunk and a few new one have appeared). FYI, I had my prostate removed in July 2019 Gleason 9, PSA 12. I’ve run the gambit

Here I go.
So the beast has returned - In summary, after a 2 year ADT vaca, my PSA started to climb so i was tracking it monthly. I also got to Mayo and they did a PSMA/CAT in october (PSA=0.2)- that they "said" was clean. In March PSA went to 1.5 so we did another scan at the end of April- and I have two mets

Affinitor and Faslodex aches and side effects! Wow! 😳
My bones 🦴 and muscles 💪🏽 are giving me some serious pain and discomfort under Affinitor and
Faslodex
! My labs came back a bit wacky! The fluctuations are disturbing but onc says to expect that ….. (still leaves you with concerns).

CDK12
I am curious to know how treatments are going with the few men who harbor CDK12 mutations. My husband has this mutation. He is in year 6 from diagnosis. 2017 he had Prostate removed … Gleason 8… clear margins at time of surgery. 6 months later PSA began to rise. He was put on Casodex/Lupron and had 39

Newly diagnosed with N1M1a
My father (68 yr old) is newly diagnosed with Gleason 8 in March and his PSMA PET result just came back with N1M1a (details in bio page). Before the PSMA PET, RO's plan is the whole pelvis with IMRT followed by a prostate only boost based on CTScan and clear bone scan and stated that his treatment

As you may know from my previous posts, I've been considering the estradiol patch, as the side effects of 4 years of ADT are mounting. (Spinal Fracture, Osteopenia, Fatigue, bone, joint and and muscle pain as well as general sick feeling. I have discussed on two occasions with my MO, and he is NOT

Casodex after castration resistance?
After being undetectable on mono HT (Zoladex) for 67 months my dad's PSA started climbing in December 2022. In March it was 0.05. His testosterone level also rose from 0.6 to 1.2. The doctor recommended to add Casodex. After a month, in April his PSA was 0.024 and testosterone was 0.9. I have two questions

Casodex
Is anyone doing only Casodex for their ADT together with their salvage rad? Are there any disadvantages for a six month course? Seems like it would make T recovery less of a problem.

Mucousitis or Chemo Mouth! Ugh!
Started Affinitor a little over a week ago along with
Faslodex
and woke up two days ago with the worst tongue and cheek (haha) pain ever. Swelling. A lesion! I feel as if little knives are cutting inside my mouth. Difficult to talk or eat. As anxious as I get I immediately called my oncologist.

Worrying study on long-term ADT (esp Enza)
I just came across a study (2019 International Journal of Pharmacology) that suggests that long-term use of ADT can cause neuroendicrine differentiation, leading to rapid spread and more aggressive spread. (the article was actually about the use of propanalol to counteract the effect of NED, but the

No Longer Undetectable, PSMA-CT Results
I posted a few days ago about the fact that my husband had been undetectable since his prostate was removed in April of 2021. And then on 3/31 his PSA was 6.3 and on 4/03 it was 7.1. The oncologist ordered a PSMA-CT scan and that was done today. The oncologist's PA called us with the results and she
