Exemestane

After exemestane stable bone Mets for 3 years. CA went up to 300 came down to 89 on this treatment. Scan just showed 6 new spots progression. Does this mean I’m resistant and need to switch? I’d like to try it again for 3 mo and rescan? Is that possible or new treatment? Which I fear.

I wanted to know if any of you have successfully returned to hormone therapy alone and for how long (before taxol she tried fulvestrant + ibrance for three years, then afinitor + exemestane, and xeloda. Thank you!

I am now moving on to Exemestane and Afinitor. I would so appreciate any experience that anyone has had on these 2 meds. I’m mostly interested in the side effects. I’m very nervous since my husband had to call 911 for me last week. Thank you for listening. Lori

Started everlimous/exemestane Oct 2023…scans were fantastic until three weeks ago, hence the offer for Enhertu. Taxol (ughhh)…would love some feed back. Keep fighting warriors!!

Started oral chemo on Afinitor and exemestane shortly thereafter. Have had gamma radiation times three for liver mets and currently have three new tumors in my liver. Will have a PET scan and liver biopsy then regroup with oncologist.

after 6 months on anastrozole and increasing joint, bone pain, my oncologist suggested change to exemestane, thinking reduced side effects because of different mechanisms... any experiences with this inhibitor?#anastrozole #exemestane

With a great deal of effort, I managed to get my exemestane switched back to the original generic. I still have diarrhea, but not as extreme with the other generic. My oncologist thinks it is not the exemestane that is causing it. She says it is "not usual."

Apparently, ribociclib (Kisqali) + exemestane didn't work at all. That is the last of the CDK4/6 inhibitors and ER inhibitors for me. I haven't talked to my oncologist yet. (Appointment is for next week!) My cancer is indolent. I haven't had any consequences from it. My tumors are small.

Has anyone been given Evacal d3 while taking exemestane? If so, have you had any side effects?

Anyone experience these side effects with exemestane (diarrhea, depression)? Has anyone tried switching manufacturers of the same medication and had better results? Tried to look up the additional ingredients?

I did chemo after surgery and have been on exemestane since. I did not have radiation. A recent pet scan showed an enlarged axillary lymph node that a biopsy showed as cancer. (apparently the surgeon missed one!) This is considered a regional metastasis and does not put me into Stage 4, yet.

after taking letroazole and ibrance for 17 months , I had to stop because I had progression in my liver mets and sternum I have started taking everolimus and Exemestane. and i am almost 2 weeks into taking them . 10 days in and I started with mouth ulcers and a very painful tongue .

I read Ibrance n Exemestane both cause diarrhea and or constipation n mentioned all this to my oncologist n she said follow up with it PCP. I sm at my wits end n o lost 12 pounds.

After 5 years on exemestane, I received the following report after my last scans. Progression…and I’m scared. Today my MO put me on tamoxifen with scans scheduled in 2-3 months. Is this a normal route to follow?

I was on Everolimus and Exemestane no idea what I will be switching to. Will find out tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Carla

After that I was on Exemestane and Everolimus for 2 months and all my liver mets grew. My oncologist at Dana Farber whom I really like said that Enhertu might be my next line of treatment. I am Her 2-low. ( I think that’s what it is called. ).

I had to switch after progression to Everolimus and Exemestane. It’s been almost 2 months and my tumor markers have continued to rise. I saw the oncologist today who was in agreement that there is a strong possibility that it’s not working.

I’m on Kisqali and exemestane and can’t taste most food. Everything else either tastes like chemicals or something equally awful. The bottom line, I’m not eating. Once I get the wrong reaction, I start to be repulsed by the idea of anything going into my mouth. Any suggestions?
