Husband doesn’t want more chemo
The top pics are feb 2018 after 9 rounds of
docetaxel
. Bottom are one year later. He feels good! But, Xtandi is done working. He is still on that, Lupron, xgeva, pain meds. PSA is rising but still low (3.01 two weeks ago). DT is under 2 months. New mets to spine.

Started on Lupron and Casodex and added up front
docetaxel
. PSA has fallen to 0.06, and he just finished his last chemo cycle. Where do we go from here? I do not like the idea of just staying on ADT and waiting for castration resistance.

Advice: New Mets... VA Oncologist wants to wait...But?...
Please see my last post for context: So the VA Oncologist wants to wait with chemotherapy (
docetaxel
), says he doesn't want to use all his "big guns" yet... But I think earlier treatment would be better, I don't want to be too sick t have chemo... Please share your thoughts...

Hello All- intro
Recommends
docetaxel
asap and a biopsy of my lymph nodes. I started care at Duke and am now at MDA. I have a perscription for Zytega but prefers I do not take that now as it may effect ability to enter some trials.

CBD effects apoptosis in all 4 PCa cell lines -- significantly enhanced the anti‐cancer effects of bicalutamide
Instead, CBD–BDS was inactive by itself against the growth of DU‐145 xenografts in vivo, although it potentiated the effect of

Eligard, Radiation & Chemo have failed, what now ??
So, in just under a year, I have been on Eligard (till now) Radiotherapy (38 fractions) and
Docetaxel
(6 cycles). ALL HAVE FAILED. What do I do now ?? I'd be grateful for any suggestions. Thank you very much, indeed.

I'm new here. Introducing myself.
Did 6 cycles of
Docetaxel
. Finished Jan., 2019. No visible tumors showing on the MRI. The choline PET scan showed still-active-but-shrunken tumor in the prostate and one lymph node. PSA 0.9 at March 1, 2019. IMRT (25 sessions) completed April 25, 2019.

Week 3 of Docetaxel Cycle
I've been noticing a strange pattern in my chemo treatments. During the third week of each cycle, right around the time my blood counts are starting to recover, I get another wave of pain and fatigue. The nurse at the MO's office even warned me this might happen at a follow-up visit during the first

Why no pain at all ??
I have been on treatment for almost exactly ONE YEAR now and have taken Casodex (14 days), Eligard (almost a year), radiation therapy (38 fractions),
docetaxel
(6 cycles). I have not experienced any pain of any significance yet. Is this normal ??

Sodium Flouride PET/CT Scan Cost
My husband is coming up on his last two rounds of
Docetaxel
, and then it's time for his follow-up scan to see how well the chemo worked. Well, called to make the appointment, and I was told that Medicare no longer pays for that particular scan.

1. Price of abiraterone / Zytiga in UK (private prescription) 2. NICE decision for abiraterone in hormone sensitive PC
The current treatment plan is ADT (Bicalutamide, LHRH injections, for at least 1 year), 6 cycles
docetaxel
, then 6-8 weeks radiotherapy to prostate and pelvic lymph nodes. We are trying to understand if privately funded abiraterone is a realistic and worth it option, instead of

Drug Effective in 80% of Men With BRCA-mutant Prostate Cancer
All had progressed on ADT; 99% were post-
docetaxel
, 90% post-abiraterone/enzalutamide, 38% post-cabazitaxel. The overall RR was 54% (95%CI 39-69%, meeting threshold for primary endpoint) in the 400mg cohort and 37% (95%CI 23-53%) in the 300mg cohort.

Timing is everything with docetaxel (and hormone therapy and probably with immunotherapy and radiopharmaceuticals too)
Many patients want to "be aggressive" and use medicines like
docetaxel
early; many patients want to put it off as long as possible. In this article, I looked at the evidence for when the "sweet spot" occurs.

Zytiga and Actinium 225
After
docetaxel
and Jevtana failed mid cycle, MO decided to put hubby on Zytiga. He started with 1000mg per day. First PSA test showed Zytiga had dropped from 48 to 46. In the meantime, we managed to get hubby on a trial with Actinium 225. Had his first injection end January.

Halfway Through Docetaxel
Hi All, thought I'd give a random update on my progress now that I'm in the third week of my third cycle of
Docetaxel
. So far I'm tolerating the chemo quite well.
