A question about Flecainide
When in first-time sustained AF this year, I was prescribed Flecainide in an attempt to return me to sinus rhythm. This did not work and subsequently I was given a DCCV which I’m pleased to say did the trick. Following the consultant’s recommendation, I am now taking Flecainide (50 mg twice a day) to

After the elation of self converting back to NSR after a full blown episode of everyone’s favourite monster…. Afib, that lasted just over 30 hours, a mere four days later and I’m back in it and now at the same 30ish hour point and feeling dreadful and convincing myself this could be another seven day

Watchman Device
I was diagnosed with afib only one time during a routine checkup. It was never found again. I even bought an afib detector that I test myself 3x a day. I have never had any symptoms. With that said, I realize afib is a progressive type of issue. In view that I have great cholesterol numbers and nothing

THANK YOU TO MY HF Nurse Helen.
Good morning, I'd like to say a few words about my wonderful Heart Failure Nurse. I have to go to the mainland this morning to have my ICD tweeked (I'm sure that's the medical term 😷). And tbh I'm terrified of the journey. I'm not in a good place "mentally" so this sort of thing is a real test. It

Anxiety about driving after ICD op
Hey all. It's been nearly six weeks since I've had my ICD fitted. I have my check on December 13th which will make it 8 weeks post op. I have had a few issues since it's been fitted. Just wondering if anyone felt anxious about getting back behind the wheel of their car. I'm terrified as worried about

Subcutaneous ICD
I've just come across this forum and wanted to see if anyone had any advice or knowledge on having a subcutaneous ICD fitted. Particularly the effects on a young (ish!) female. I've been aware of my condition for a long time and have always managed it fine with no real effects after some initial issues

Anyone have ablation for asymptomatic afib/aflutter?
Hi. I appreciate the great answers and support from my previous question on this forum. I know the main reason for ablation is to eiminate afib, improve QoL and hopefully get off of the meds. This may be a stupid question but are there many people with asymptomatic afib/aflutter and heartrate of 70-

Can heart pounding ectopics come with pulsating head pressure?
I am new here, but have already found the site to be very informative and helpful. For more than a year now, almost daily and usually at the end of the day, I have been experiencing pulsating head pressure and sometimes a sense of dizziness. The head pulsations often seem to sync with heart pounding

Pulse Oximeters to help/predict Afib?
Hi folks, Has anyone had any success with using one of these devices to reduce the number or duration of Afib episodes/symptoms. I am about to trial one to monitor my O2 and heartrate at nights because I feel that undiagnosed sleep apnoea (perhaps below the clinical definition) may be causing or contributing

15 month after my first ablation
Hello, I have been diagnosed with Afib in April 2020, and had an ablation on June 2020. It took me 9 months to fully recover - in NSR all the time but I had periods of dizziness and high hearth rate. I was a recreational trail runner before all started, running 50 miles per week, stopped running before

8 week update post ablation for paroxysmal afib .
Hi all, I had a call from cardiologist/ep last night. I have been sending in alivecor readings regularly to document afib recurrance. I have my follow up appointment next Thursday. So, 8.5 weeks out and I'm continuing to have symptomatic paroxysmal afib. 👎 In fairness, I was warned about the possibility

11 weeks after ablation …. HR, exercise and ectopics …..
65 yo, was doing triathlons <3 hours until AFib. Ablation 3 Aug. No AFib since. Resting HR was 60, 70 since ablation. HR would reach high 160s when exercising, before ablation - HR peaked at 168 doing the treadmill ramp stress ecg at which point AFib was imminent (pre stage). Since ablation I have

Returning to sinus rhythm
I have paroxysmal afib and usually go back to sinus rhythm within 20 hours maximum. This time I’m halfway through second day. Rates are not particularly high but go high if I do much. What do others do while waiting to reset? I know that progression is likely to mean more episodes like this. My normal

UK Government announce that supplies of Molnupiravir and Ritonavir against Covid 19 have been secured.
Thousands of vulnerable patients could be taking ground-breaking COVID-19 antivirals this winter after the government announced deals to secure 2 new treatments. These treatments should speed up recovery time for COVID-19 patients and the most vulnerable will be eligible first, including the elderly
