Benazepril

Before PCa, I had moderately high BP, which was controlled OK with benazepril + amlodipine. After starting Lupron, abiraterone, and 5 mg/day prednisone, my BP increased substantially.

Now I'm required to keep blood pressure under 140/80 .which means taking my benazepril twice daily instead of only once.

She also takes Benazepril for decades. I would appreciate any insight into what is occurring.

But my BP has been increasing even though I’ve been taking benazepril 20 mg/day plus amlodipine besylate 2.5 mg/day for many years. Average BP over Jan 2022 has been 167/80, which obviously isn’t good.

Found out a couple of weeks ago that I’m pregnant so doctors switched me from Benazepril 40 to Amlodipine 5 to Nifedipine 60. Took them today and boy my heart starts racing. Looked it up and possible side effect is Tachycardia. This made me stay in bed for hours as I feel weak and dizzy.
