Was wondering. Now I've stopped smoking do I really need to continue taking my pumps for COPD?
I use
atrovent
and seretide pumps. I'm moderate COPD with lung age of 76 years. Not sure where asthma ends and COPD starts to be honest but My asthma/COPD is present everyday but not as bad as when I smoked. I can live with it without pumps. Do I need to take my pumps still?

only recently diagnosed with COPD and the doctor first gave me Spiriva but had to stop as too drying and with a terrible cough so she then
prescribed
Atrovent
inhaler CFC free 20 micro. after a couple of weeks finding the side effects bad especially swollen ankles are much worse, nosebleeds, palpitations, dry mouth etc. Has anyone had this problem and is there another inhaler with less side effects.

Atrovent experiences?
His consultant said that he would prescribe him .
atrovent
too if he had another attack before his next appointment in March, which he has had so I know he will be given this.

To repeat myself....I have been on atrovent and salbutamol for 2 years, but 6 months ago It was said I needed something extra........I have
used Seritide, Symbicort, Oxis and Qvar for a month at a time with no added help. I have now been prescribed ....Fostair as a last resort before I am sent to a consultant. Does anyone have any experience of Fostair?

Ongoing asthma
I'm on seretide 250 twice daily and take salbutamol 3 times (2 puffs each time) and
atrovent
1-2 a day. I've also had 3 courses of steroids and 3 courses of antibiotics for infections since august.

Hi l managed to join the day the advice line closed for Xmas. Duh! I am still trying to find my way around as its the first forum Ive joint
I was put on Salamol and
Atrovent
inhalers and although I cannot walk a long way without catching my breath I accepted my lot. Then in September the nurse at my annual review added a Seritide inhaler and I had to return after a month. I told her it made me feel ill and gave no extra relief.

How to approach GP
I was discharged from the cons with a list of things to try (Intal,
Atrovent
etc) but nothing has really made a huge difference. My GP/asthma nurse admit that they are out of my depth but being referred has only been mentioned/not acted upon which is something else I need to discuss.

Palpitations with Atrovent/Spiriva vs Ventolin
It really calmed down at times when I was just or mainly using
Atrovent
as a reliever.

Atrovent and Spiriva?
Hi, My gp has just changed me over to spiriva to take once a day from
atrovent
4 times a day. Was wondering whether anyone has any experiences as whether it has helped get more control? I have been told that the spiriva replaces
atrovent
as it is a long acting version of the same drug.

Atrovent inhaler.
Is anyone on
Atrovent
inhaler - have you found it makes much difference? I am not convinced we have found the right combo of meds for Thomas yet. Thanks for any advice. Jenny
