Just an update.
Just been to the Docs this morning. Keeping me on Atrovent, it must be working it stops the wheez I get first thing in a morning. I'm still occasionally bringing dark green phlegm up, a couple of times per month I'd say. Dr says she can't hear anything on my chest and it's clear of infection. I've

Stopping Atrovent
Hi all, hope everyone is keeping well! my asthma has been really unstable over the past year or so (had 5 admissions this year already!) i was on a trial of Xolair which made no difference to my spirometery and very little difference to my quality of life so they stopped it, but they have also stopped

Hi guys, I haven't been around in a long while, but I supposed my asthma was O.K. for a bit, or at least I had other health and life issues to deal with! And then my doctors have been giving me a bit of the run around with some of my symptoms, but I'm convinced they

What to do now
Hi Everyone I'm struggling a bit at the moment. I had colds last October, November and December! I needed oral Steroids in October but that was the only time I had them in 2011. In the new year I felt like I'd got a constant cold and the Asthma was playing up, especially in the mornings. My GP thought

Steve the boa constrictor *and friends*
So, I've been having a few issues with Nellie's little sister recently - she's not as big as Nellie but she's sure trying to be! Quite often though, Nellie junior takes a break (probably off to have more cake) and is replaced by Steve. Steve is a boa constrictor and he likes to sqqquuueeeezzeee all

Atrovent
Has anyones little one had this and what was it used for/with? I am a little confused as if this is a preventer or reliever, some ppl I have spoken to have used it for both! The reason I am asking is because Isaac was given this to try instead of his salbutamol (to check if sal was making him hyper

Nebs v Inhalers?!?!
My daughter is 3 years old and a brittle asthmatic - in the last 4 weeks we've needed 4 courses of pred and antibiotics! We've also had 4 hospital stays - on our second to last discharge the Dr suggested not to give my daughter 4 hourly nebs and swap over to inhalers instead as these are proven to be

What next for my poor little girl?!
My gorgeous little girl was put on a maintenance dose of pred last month. It eased the daily symptoms she was getting of exercised induced asthma for example. Prior to this she could only walk 50m without becoming breathless. Since beig on daily pred she can walk further and sleep better without regular

Weight loss in a child on high steroids?
Well Maddie is 2 and a half. She is on so many meds, including maintenance pred 3mg daily and pulmicort 2mg daily. As well as montelukast, serevent, atrovent, omeprazole, ventolin, ceterizine. Anyway she's always been a little chunk! Cuddly shall we say! She was put on maintenance pred about 8 weeks

What inhalers do your children have?
I'm interested to see what inhalers other people's children take as I think my 4 year old twins may be about to get their's changed and I want to get myself informed so I know what the consultant is talking about! Oliver is currently on flixotide 2 puffs twice a day. He also has atrovent 1 puff 3 times
