Side effects
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same and looking for some advice. Last week I’d had three attacks in the space of a week that resulted in A&E treatment with salbutamol, atrovent, hydrocortisone, magnesium and pred tablets. I’ve had an attack free week and have finished the pred now

Post attack advice please
Hi all So Tuesday i ended up going to a+e on blues and twos from my GP surgey. This is the first time it's happened. I know I grumbled about the asthma care I've received from my surgery but to be fair to them, they were brilliant. I had been struggling for a few days and using my ventolin A LOT.

Nebuliser
Hi all. My asthma has been really bad for 5 weeks now. Hospital admission for a week. Back on high dose steroids after a 2 day break. I saw my gp yesterday and she said to increase nebulisers. I was having 5ml salbutamol every 4 hours including through night. And 3 atrovent daily. Plus symbicort

Finally started the short course of oral steroids
Hi everyone! After my asthma started to get worse again 4 days ago, I finally decided to take the oral steroids even though I was terrified of the adverse effects. I was in a situation where nothing else was working, nebs were no longer useful they only lasted one hour and I still had trouble breathing

Excessive Salvia
Hi has anyone had experience of using 1% atropine eye drops for excessive saliva? Doc is suggesting Hyocine patches but I think the side effects maybe worse than the drooling. My dad has only recently been diagnosed so any advice would be welcomed. Thank you

Two questions about my asthma
Hi, I have been struggling for 3 months with my asthma ever since I had the flu in February. I've already posted something here a couple of weeks ago but as I still don't feel good and no one around me really understands how bad I feel (not even the doctors) I figured talking to people who had the

Bad spell of asthma
My partner has had asthma all his life but has been well controlled as an adult. Since January he has suddenly had problems. He was taking salbutamol & lowest dose seretide. He has now been increased to Seretide 500 & given atrovent inhaler & a nebuliser. How often should he be using the atrovent nebules

Thank you! & Here’s my story...
Hi All, This is my first post and I just wanted to say Thank you. I’ve been reading all your posts for 3 years now and it is the only place I find complete comfort. I’m sure most are aware that this AMAZING community can really lift us when we’re feeling down. Just by sharing your own fears, experiences

A dignified journey
Hi all, I just wanted to pop on here to express my sincere appreciation for this site. I haven't really participated here, but have found it to be a wealth of information while transitioning through the different stages of my dad's PSP journey. Alongside that, it has been really remarkable to know there

Medical BP conundrum (because having dodgy lungs isn’t enough 😅)
So just got out of hospital but thought I’d post here to see if anyone has ever had anything similar cause I had everyone stumped 😂. Now it’s not just my lungs confusing everyone 😅. Has anyone very suffered from low blood pressure solely when sitting with feet hanging/on the floor? Severe asthma attack

Pred, blood sugars, and changing up meds?
Kind of frustrated today as recent tests have come back normal. On one hand it is good because some of the tests were for cystic fibrosis (there’s still a slight possibility I have the gene mutations but sweat test was normal) and of course I wouldn’t want that, but it would have explained all my issues

Undiagnosed daughter on alot of medication, anyone similar?
So here goes, hello I am Natasha. My daughter is five years old on Sunday. She is un-diagnosed and has carried out lung function tests which have determined she is not asthmatic by consultants now at Derby and Great Ormond Street. She lives on daily, slo-phyllin, montelukas, seretide, steroids in winter

New asthma team
I used to be on this forum under a different pseudonym so hi again! My asthma seemed to be going well; until last week, my last attack was ‘just’ a severe one back in August 2017. Caught it early, out the same night. In March this year, I stepped my Seretide inhaler down from 250/25 (2 puffs twice a

This usually does me till I take the Revlar but sometimes I may have to take another puff of Atrovent. I

What dose of Flecainide were others given for chemical cardioversion?
I have just had a big weekend in hospital for treatment of my second bout of AF. First one was 2 years ago and had cardioversion. I have had funny beats now and then but no AF until Saturday night. My cardiologist had advised me to present to A and E for pill in pocket trial when I next got AF so that

Well, you don’t look ill.
I don’t know about you but over the years I’ve hear that hundreds of times. I was diagnosed in 1989 at the age of 24 after repeated Uveitis episodes resulting in an Atropine injection in my eyeball and 3 weeks later steroid in what looked like a spider sack under my eye. With skin issues and joint
