Hello everyone. I just joined and was asked to introduce myself so I am simply pasting the bio I wrote when joining. It pretty much describes my story. I will read more of the existing posts before I start asking a lot of questions. I look forward to being part of the group! Bio: I began having episodes

questioning plan of care
My AFib usually starts with a few ectopics and the an irregular HR but usually low 60/80 I’m running out of triggers !! Mostly it just happens randomly , I’m seeing my ep cardiologist on Friday and I’m going to ask if there is a plan of care or do I just carry on till it gets worse . I am on apixaban

afib/svt
I had ablation for svt around 7 years ago and then cryoablation for afib 6 years ago. I am taking both a blood thinner and a small dose of beta blocker While I have felt an occasional off beat it wasn’t until Friday that I entered tachycardia of around 109. I had not taken the beta blocker the night

Second Successful Ablation with Dr. Natale
I am now one week past my second ablation with Dr. Natale in Austin, Texas. The biggest miracle of all was that when I went off of Flecainide five days before surgery, nothing happened and I stayed in sinus rhythm. My first ablation was nearly five years ago, and I tried unsuccessfully to go off of Flecainide

Post Catheter Ablation Recovery
Hi all, i had my ablation 3 weeks ago now and still experiencing mild soreness/discomfort around the puncture site in my groin. I was told by LGI I would be up to near normal activity after a few days and be back swimming and light gym work after a couple of weeks yet it took me over a week to be able

Write me a afib poem please. Here's one! (Jean - I can't wait to read yours!)
Hi HU community. This post is a follow on from the thread by MarkS about AI. https://healthunlocked.com/afassociation/posts/149130289/af-and-ai?utm_campaign=afassociation&utm_medium=email&utm_source=notification&utm_term=new-daily+digest I thought it would be fun if some members wrote a funny poem

They Do Not Believe You. Get a Kardia!
So I had a video appointment recently with an ep. Unfortunately, some of my medical records did not arrive at his office on time, so he only had partial records. He had some ekg's that showed flutter, but he couldn't find one with afib. I explained to him that I have a 40-year history of afib progressing

Norovirus and atrial fibrillation
Had an ablation back in May 2022 but not heard from the hospital since the procedure. Generally not been too bad apart from 1 week with ectopics, bigeminals and trigeminals. Still on apixaban and 200mg of sotalol though.... That is, until now. I picked up my mother from hospital on Friday and started

Off the AF meds, scared!
Has anybody got a similar experience of coming off the meds so soon, it just seems early days I spoke to my Cardiologist last week, after an ablation in September I was tachycardic and a cardio version was required in December. Sinus rhythm restored and February 7th he took me off both the beta blockers

Question for anyone who has had OHS please
A month ago I had OHS and went straight into Afib. I have had a pacemaker inserted 2 years ago. I want to know from anyone who’s had this surgery if their breasts were soooo sore. I do have big boobs so not sure if this is why. Yesterday I have a cardioversion which was successful. I feel like I

BP monitor
Howdy folks - I used to take my BP monthly with a manual BP cuff and monitor. Since going into permanent controlled AFib I find it almost impossible to get an accurate reading using this method. On reading up on this I understand that most BP monitors are "fooled" by AFib and will give inaccurate readings

Meds post ablation.
Hello. I am 52 and in discussions to have an ablation, probably, in a few months. My Afib was spurred by an overactive thyroid and as far as I can tell I am in pretty much constant Afib. I don't have any major symptoms but if I check my heart rate / rhythm they are always irregular. When I have had EKGs

Prazosin side effect
I use Prazosin for possible anti-PCa effects. Alas, all is not gold that glitters. Prazosin is prescribed for LUTS and high blood pressure, with an effect that tends to lower diastolic more than systolic ( upper number) blood pressure. In my own case it can lower diastolic to below 60, which tends

Just me
I found out I have a-fib. only because my wife heart the beat when laying on my chest. Don't know how long I have had it and never felt it. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and trying to address it at this time. The heart doc put me on 25 mg of Metoprolol and it made my blood pressure too low. Now

last November i was diagnosed with Afib which had appeared overnight - possible covid induced?. I found this site and was so reassured by people I thought i would give an update. So on 23rd November i went to af clinic, we are automatically referred here when diagnosed. I had echocardiogram first, then

Stopped Flecainide, update
I have been off Flecainde now for almost a month. Had two short episodes of Afib the end of the first week. Then nothing. I also noticed that the weird off balance feeling, I have had for at least a year, has gone. So I believe it was caused by the Flecainide. Last night I had a short half hour

Also in Persistent Afib
I am in continous afib with a slower than normal heart rate (brachycardia). I experience no symtoms. I'm on the blood thinner Eliquis, 5 mg, 10 AM and 10PM to prevent my having a stroke. My cardiologist (who performs many ablations per year) recommended I do an ablation. I consulted with another cardiologist

Rapid heart rate on Ozempic
Has anyone had to go off of Ozempic due to rapid heart rate? I had an ablation a year and a half ago for AFib and now when I started Ozempic after 3 days I woke up with my heart raving at 162 bpm. It felt like AFib anc then after deep breathing it started to go down to 157 then 128 and tachycardic
