Recently Diagnosed at 46
I am a 46 year old male and recently been diagnosed with asthma! I have always been an active and sports orientated individual. As a youth was involved in the harriers and ran at a high level and was picked for English schools and was a County Champion. The events which I excelled at were short anaerobic

Long term use of Beclomethasone dipropionate steroid inhaler
Hello there...has anyone like me been on steroid inhalers for 25+ years for their asthma? Just wondered if it's caused you any other medical problems...particularly adrenal problems? Many thanks ☺

Having had and neglected asthma for 20+ years it's really come to bite me on the ass. ... it all started with a high pulse (see my other post for the details) anyway I've been taking beclomethasone for a month or so now and have really noticed a difference in how light and easy it is to breath (I'd

Brand new to this, well, sort of - and need help to learn
My question is: when do I know I should take ventolin? This may sound odd, but perhaps less so with my story below. Now in my sixties I was diagnosed in the last couple of years. I had noticed myself wheezing intermittently and briefly, and then For a period found it hard to breathe out on excercise.

Flutiform or Fostair?
I was on Beclometasone and Fostair when I was in Brazil last month and since coming back to UK have gone on to Flutiform and Montelukast - am beginning to think the Braz doc had the better solution. Would anyone care to offer their opinions if they have tried both please?

Worst things people have said/what not to say to someone with a lung condition
1. "look, you're not breathing right…iiiiiin….ouuuuut…." I know I'm not breathing right, I'm having an attack! I can't breathe! 2. "take DEEP breaths!" Again, can't breathe, so... 3. "you're just panicking!" Yep, and that's why my lungs are silent, right? 4. "oh I get a cough sometimes too" Oh poor

Newbie struggling
Hi, I'm new and, as the title suggests, struggling. I first remember experiencing breathlessness as a late teen and it has gradually gotten worse over the years. I would get a right chest and struggle to get deep breaths but no coughing or wheezing. I was first diadiagnosed 3 years ago after a particularly

Almost new diagnosis and recent attack
Hi All, I've been reading through the forum and you all seem to be really helpful, so I thought I'd ask for a bit of advice I was diagnosed as a toddler and suffered all the way through childhood, but in my early-mid 20s my symptoms disappeared (I'm 33 now). I suffer with hayfever and I would occasionally

Weather related asthma
I'm new here, I recently had a flare up in my asthma, after 11 years! I was taking the maximum dose of beclomethasone along with salbutamol 4 times a day, plus extra if needed. I was then changed to Fostair as I could not have any more Beclo, it worked for me. I only get one side effect so I just deal

I was prescribed Spiriva and used it for the first month but have been unable to get it this month, it's been 2 weeks now - do I need it?
I live in Grenada and getting prescription drugs is not always easy... Since using Spiriva for the first month I have been using Salbutamol and Beclometasone for 2 weeks now on their own. I feel OK now. I did go into hospital about 6 weeks or so ago with an infection and that's where I was prescribed

Breathless and really worried............ is this what to expect at moderate stage or should I have inhalors upped
I was diagnosed with COPD 10 days ago after having spirometry test by Nurse at GP surgery. Reading was FEV1 73. I was given inhalors Salbutamol 100mcg 2 puffs 4 times a day and Beclometasone 100mcg 2 pufs twice a day. I will go back and discuss as I was so in shock that I could not think of questions

I attended GP and Nurse last Tuesday for spirometry as they thought I may have Asthma. FEV1 reading was 73. Was told it was moderate COPD and I was too stunned to take it all in. I am going to go back and get more info and advice. I was given Salbutamol and Beclometasone inhalers. I am still feeling

Fostair - New Inhaler
I saw my asthma nurse yesterday and she changed my inhaler to a new one ( At least new to me anyway) called Fostair. It's a combination inhaler - Reliever and steroid. I'm presuming the Reliever is Formoterol fumarate dihydrate and the steroid preventer is Beclometasone dipropionate. Just really wanted
