Daughter just been diagnosed with asthma ....
Were a bit daunted at mo as 3 weeks ago olivia was diagnosed with asthma that is triggered by ""furry"" animals. We don't have any animals(well 2 fish!) but my mum has a poodle and my sis has a spaniel!! Hubby has nut allergy and is allergic to animals but just gets itchy, so we noticed olivia when ever

All this is so new to me
I've had very mild asthma for several years, only when I've had a cold. Generally salbutamol and a couple days beclomethasone sorts me out and it's months before I need to use either of them again. On Friday I had what I think was a massive full on asthma attack, brought on I think by a chest infection

Beclometasone
I wanted to ask if anybody has ever had or currently has trouble with side effects whilst using a brown Beclometasone inhaler? In short, I have been suffering for asthma badly for 6 months. I used to have very mild asthma as a child but have been prescribed a brown (Beclometasone) inhaler. Every time

Allergic asthma and symbicort
Hiya all, just been to at the hospital for tests today. I've had hayfever for 20yrs(I'm 30yrs old) which developed into asthma 11yrs ago but gradually got worse every year. Always been on different antihistamines and nasal sprays, recent inhalers like ventolin, serevent and beclometasone and also singulair

Not sure whether Dr is right and what about competitive cycling?
I've just joined this site and wish I'd found it years ago! I was diagnosed about 7 years ago but it seems likely I've had asthma for a lot longer. I hadn't really accepted the diagnosis until reading many of the posts here as one of the big things is I only wheeze when I've got a bad cold or respiratory

Am I being impatient?
Hello To cut a long story short, I have a viral infection that's had a bad effect on my asthma. I'm on 30mg of Prednisolone, amoxicillin, 400mg of beclometasone (twice a day), 100mg of salmeterol (twice a day) and I still feel like I'm constantly tight-chested. None of these medicines seem to keep

Side effects, Salbutomol and Beclometasone?
Hi All, wondering if any of you can give me a bit of advice? First a bit of background: I was diagnosed at the start of December after having an attack and having to go into hospital. I should have a PF of about 650, but was down around 250 in the hospital. My GP started me on Salbutomol 100mg 2

Expiration dates
hi, wondering if anyone could advice me what to do. Back on the 19th April I was given 2 dry powder beclometasone inhalers. I started using the 1st with serevent but it wasn't helping so went on to symbicort. Things seem to settle a bit so decided to try the beclometasone and serevent again (dr told

Can't get used to new preventer after being switched off Becloforte
I had my six monthly checkup with my asthma nurse three weeks ago. I was stunned to hear that Becloforte (and Becotide) are being discontinued although I know this is old news here! My asthma is usually pretty well controlled with quite high doses of Beclomethasone, and I have had no problems in the

Sleep disturbances
Since taking Beclometasone dipropionate 200 at the rate of 2 puffs twice a day, I've been waking up at 4 am. Unusual for me as pre inhaler I'd usually sleep right through to 8 am. I'm taking my inhaler at 9 am and 9 pm. Any thoughts?

Alternatives to preventer inhalers?
Has anyone experienced extreme side effects when using preventer inhalers? I have tried Beclomethasone (2 puffs daily) three times now and every time I use it, my breathing improves but after the second to third day I get crippling back pain/pressure. I really don't know how to move forward in getting

New to asthma and full of questions
Hi On my 47th birthday i developed a cough! Within a week i had bronchitus and a really bad reaction to the antibiotics and now i have asthma (which the doctor thinks I've had a while). I have a brown inhaler of beclometasone and a blue inhaler of salbutamol. I'm still a bit shocked that I've got asthma

Allergies and Asthma
I have an allergy to latex as well as other things which I don't exactly know of. (I have never had a test, but i am going to see dr about that). Anyway, My asthma seems to have gotten worse over the last few weeks, and during the same period my normal symtoms of my allergies have appeared too. (Sneezing

Hi, I'm currently on seretide 125 (bd) and have been using this for quite a while (along with montelukast) and my asthma is now fairly well controlled - I was discharged from my consultant earlier this year. However, I received a letter from my gp surgery telling me that they would like to offer me the
