Blood Negative MRD
(
Acalabrutinib
, obinutuzumab and venetoclax). He finished obinutuzumab. Currently: after 11 months, February 2023, of immunotherapy, my hubby's blood revealed negative MRD. In April he will have a BMB to see if this too is negative.

Acalabrutinib and water
I was wondering, since starting
Acalabrutinib
four days ago and with all the water, (8cups) you have to drink, I have lost two pounds. Since I have lost 10 pounds in the last year already, I don’t want to lose any more. Has anyone else experienced weight loss in treatment?

weight loss/gain
like you I lost weight after a couple of months on
Acalabrutinib
then got back to my normal weight after 6 months. 14 months in I’m still at my normal weight. I’ve never had tea or coffee and have always drunk loads of water.

Vitamin D interaction with Acalabrutinib/Ibrutinib??
She said the vitamin D may decrease the effectiveness of
Acalabrutinib
but it wasn't tested with
Acalabrutinib
, It was tested with a statin that uses the same liver pathway as Ibrutinib/
Acalabrutinib
. I can't believe this is true and I don't want to stop taking my vitamin D.

Monocytes and therapy, or not.
Has anyone had their monocytes go up (above normal range) while on therapy, specifically
acalabrutinib
or venetoclax or both? (Mine has creeped up over the past two months since I started venetoclax, don't know if any of these are related or just coincidence.)

Long and Winding Road
I suggest reducing the dosage of
Acalabrutinib
on the grounds that, in a previous treatment, Ibrutinib had been suppressing the re-emergence of red blood cells, perhaps
Acalabrutinib
was doing the same to the platelets.

Is pain to be expected with CLL?
I am about to start 2nd line treatment with
Acalabrutinib
, but this has been delayed for around 3 months due to (benign) prostate complications and operations. I've enjoyed a remission of around 2 yrs following chlorambucil and obinutuzimab.

Has anyone else had these symptoms or are they unrelated to the
acalabrutinib
? His blood pressure is normal.

Attention Those Taking Ibrutinib & BTK Inhibitors:Second Cancer Incidence in CLL Patients Receiving BTK Inhibitors
In CLL patients treated with ibrutinib or
acalabrutinib
, an overall incidence of SPM x times the expected incidence in the general population was observed. The post will attract others, not just those in treatment now.

I have taken
acalabrutinib
almost a year and labs and lymph nodes are close to normal. Has anyone taken
acalabrutinib
longer with good results?

Antibodies and vaccines
I do understand that my body will remember infections and vaccines prior to CLL/
Acalabrutinib
do wonder if there is anything to be gained from a private antibody test.

Follow up on low platelets and stopping Acalabrutinib
Hi to all my CLL friends , i was doing well after 9 months on calquence ... i had minimal side effects which were occasional stabbing pains in my joints and muscle stiffness . I also had petechiae in my lower legs and feet as well as purpura on my hands and arms . to me this was no big deal compared

Problems with Venetoclax & Obinutuzumab-feeling low about the future
I am afraid of being transferred to a BTK inhibitor because a cardiologist has warned me that because of the structure of my heart (Atrial enlargement) I would be at significant risk of Atrial Fibrillation even on
Acalabrutinib
.

Incorrect Interpretation of BTKis & Incidence of SPM
They concluded that neither ibrutinib nor
acalabrutinib
altered the incidence of secondary primary malignancies in CLL patients.

acalabrutinib stopped working. Can switching to venclexta help?
I am on
acalabrutinib
for two years. In first year my wbc went down from 150k to 18k, and for the second year from from 18k to 14k. My hgb is 15, plt 200k. My spleen decreased in size from 21cm to 14cm. I feel generally better, and no side effects. My dr think about switching to venclexta.
