Activity and Safety of Enzalutamide in Patients with mCRPC Previously Treated with Abiraterone Acetate Plus Prednisone for ≥24 weeks.
Overall, a better understanding of the biology of
abiraterone
and enzalutamide resistance is key to optimise the use of these agents. A recent study reported the conversion of
abiraterone
to the more active Δ4-
abiraterone
metabolite in mice and patients with prostate cancer [28].

Phase II randomized study of neoadjuvant and adjuvant abiraterone acetate+ ARN-509 for intermediate-high risk prostate cancer
Arm 1A gets Lupron +
abiraterone
acetate + apalutamide. Arm 1B gets Lupron +
abiraterone
acetate. Has anyone heard of this study? What do you think? I'm inclined to hit this hard. Are there other treatments that I should consider? Thank you all!

Xofigo and Zytiga
I was wondering if folks on this site were aware that the European Medicine Agency (EMA) has indicated that Xofigo (Radium 223) should not be used with the medicine Zytiga (
abiraterone
acetate) and the corticosteroid prednisone.

Phase II study shows some benefit of combination therapy for mCRPC in patients with HRR. But not seeing anything on early administration of the combined therapy prior to being casteration resistant. https://www.practiceupdate.com/C/69314/56?elsca1=emc_enews_topic-alert

Lupron lifespan and just a little more!
I am also taking
abiraterone
concurrently. I am also seeing a really good radiologist at UCSF who feels I need to get off both to allow for my PSA to get to .2 before any lesions will really show, since ADT kinds of leaves existing lesions dormant.

Hormone Therapy failing?
From reading the forums I had understood that most people see a fast drop in PSA after the hormone shot and his seemed to have risen and then only went down slightly, which may also be due to the
abiraterone
.

Seeking input on Australia for Lu-177 for my dad
He has failed multiple rounds of chemo, hormone treatments (both
abiraterone
and enzalutamide). With his PSA at over 700 and overwhelming pain and weakness, he recently received his first dose of Lu-177. Fortunately, he seems to be responding well.

Statin use and survival in metastatic castration-resistant PCa treated with abiraterone or enzalutamide after docetaxel failure.
"Five hundred and ninety-eight patients treated with second-line
abiraterone
or enzalutamide after docetaxel for mCRPC were included. A total of 199 men (33.3%) received statins during
abiraterone
/enzalutamide treatment.

Only early chemo? Or early abiraterone too?
My concern is that he will become castrate resistant before he has the chance to start on
abiraterone
, lessening it’s effectiveness.

Brittle nails (on Zytiga/abiraterone)
My husband recently started on Zytiga (after being on Xtandi for almost two years). He's noticed that his nails are really brittle, cracking, peeling, ridging. I read about using Aquaphor on them, which we're trying. He did chemo almost three years ago, and only short 5-day bursts of radiation on

Abiraterone
has been demonstrated to be superior to docetaxel in efficacy, acute toxicity, toxic deaths, and convenience. However, the costs of
abiraterone
are significantly higher than that of docetaxel.
