I didn't have any outbreaks surrounding my 2 pregnancies; however, I typically get small, controllable outbreaks the week before my cycle.
Hi ashleybrooke30,
Thanks for responding. SS does seem to be linked to hormonal changes, but as yet, we don't know why.
A few members of our Facebook group have experienced the same thing as you. We do know that some skin conditions can get worse or be triggered by increased progesterone levels about a week before a woman's period. Unfortunately, there's is a lack of research looking at the connection between SS and hormones.
Shell.

Hello, I am from Belgium, and have been diagnosed with Sweet's syndrome and started developing lesions some years ago. In December 2008, I underwent a Caesarean section because I developed pre-eclampsia (toxaemia of pregnancy) ... I do not know if this could be related. Overnight, I also lost the hearing in my left ear, but the doctor never knew why. I've posted this information in case it can help someone.
