Do the lesions leave scars all of the time? Do they fade? Is there anything I can put on them to help reduce the pigment? Thank you

Hi twins1803, the lesions don't leave scars all of the time, but some redness can remain. The redness can lessen over time but this may take months or even years.

Some people find camouflage makeup useful. The Changing Faces organization offers a free camouflage service to people in the UK. changingfaces.org.uk/Skin-C...

Mineral powders, e.g. BareMinerals, can also be useful. They're quite light on the skin and can offer a more natural look than traditional camouflage make-up. bareminerals.co.uk/Finishin...

Once the lesions have healed, keeping the skin well moisturized and protecting the skin from the sun can help.

DO NOT use chemical peels or have laser treatments. These are sometimes used to treat scarring/hyperpigmentation, but are best avoided in people with SS. SS causes skin hypersensitivity, and skin damage, including minor skin damage, can trigger the development of new lesions.
