I have Lupus and for about 8 months I have been getting debilitating muscle cramps in my legs mostly at night. My Dr says it is not because of the Lupus but does not know why. Anyone have any clues?

Muscle cramps etc are a symptom of lupus. The problem is they can also be symptoms of all sorts of other things from exercise to dehydration, also some medication can cause them. All I could suggest is googling 'night time muscle cramps' and seeing if you could eliminate what might be causing them.

The main suggestions seem to be to ensure you're hydrated, having a soak in a warm bath and simply walking around. If none of these work and they become too troublesome perhaps your doctor could suggest some medication to relieve them?

Thanks for the help. The dr has put me on a med that seems to be helping.
