Hi, my daughter has recently been diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension and mixed vasovagal syncope type 1.
I’m trying to find out if it’s possible to have pots as well as what she has been diagnosed with as she has many other symptoms of pots that don’t seem to be caused by the others.
Also I can’t seem to find what the mixed and type 1 means with vasovagal syncope if anyone has any info I’d really appreciate it, Thanks

It’s a bit complicated because this area isn’t well understood yet, but my understanding is that a POTS diagnosis is usually only made in the absence of orthostatic hypotension.
Definitions aren’t completely settled yet and terminology and criteria vary between specialists and countries.
One thing to consider is that there is a good deal of overlap in how these conditions are managed.
Which symptoms are you concerned about? Have you and your daughter been given advice on interventions and possibly medications to treat her symptoms?
