Advice please

I often wonder why Syncope appeared on my medical records because it has never been discussed with me. In 2007 I fell while I was crossing a road. I had just got to the kerb when I went flat on my face. I assumed that I had misjudged the kerb but I never really believed that I had because I'm sure I would have had some pain afterwards in that area. In 2014 I fell halfway down a flight of stairs. On neither occasion was there any prior warning it just happened "out of the blue". About 6 years ago I was on a bus and very nearly missed my stop as I wasn't aware of where I was. It was on a regular journey and I remember the bus approaching the bus stop about half a mile away but nothing more. I spoke to my G.P. about it and he referred me to a neurologist. The neurologist asked me to perform a couple of simple tasks and ruled out epilepsy. I also had an ecg. done at the surgery. When I eventually gained access to my medical records it showed Syncope but as I said, this has never been discussed with me so I'm not sure if there are other diagnostic procedures that should have been done or if there is any advice that I should have been given. I would appreciate your thoughts on this.
