Hi everyone,

I’ve just joined and wanted to say hi.

Looking for advice on getting diagnosed with PoTs. I live in Scotland.

Pots.uk have Dr Mehran Asgari down as being a Dr with interest and works at my local hospital. Anyone seen that Dr?

Any tips on how to get diagnosed?

Thanks

Jacqueline

Hi, there are a couple of clinics for POTS one in Sheffield and one in London. Normally a cardiologist led team. You would have to have a tilt table test to confirm POTS. STARS or arrhythmia alliance also have lots of info on POTS. If a doctor has an interest in pots that must be a good place to start! Many Drs don't know what it is....

It is very difficult to get diagnosis. My GP requested a tilt turn test 2 years ago and it did not happen. Dr Ashagari has said it was one of two routes about 8 weeks ago and neither have happened, I have just spent over 24 hours in hospital after passing out twice and was tole I would get the tilt turn Test in the morning, BP drugs were withdrawn and I was discharged without getting the test
